Attending the American Urological Association annual meeting in DC was a rewarding experience. It’s always uplifting to connect with colleagues and learn about the latest advancements in our field.

During the event, I had the opportunity to meet four individuals who recognized me from my educational content on TikTok. While I may not be a celebrity, it was encouraging to see that my efforts add value for other providers, students, APPs, and anyone interested in urology. The field of urology is exceptional, and video content on social media significantly influences how our profession is perceived and understood.

Just because a physician has a great “hook” doesn’t mean they’re the right fit for your clinical needs. 🩺💡

would I become a doctor again? Premed students love to ask this question and for me it is a complicated answer. I love being a doctor being a urologist is the most awesome thing ever. I don’t know that I could go through the training process again, knowing how difficult it would be emotionally physically and all the other ways. Even the most “benign programs” tend not to treat residents with the respect that they deserve. I literally have nightmares about being dropped in the middle of residency again. So for me. It’s a complicated answer.

Sometimes providers forget that outside testosterone replacement therapy, inhibits s***m production, and causes azoos***mia in about 85% cases. Please be sure to ask any man if he plans on having children before starting outside testosterone. It is very unlikely to permanently impact fertility, but can certainly slow down the process.
