We are proud to share that Dr. Neal Patel was honored to serve as a co-author on the newly published consensus paper, “Recommendations to Inform National Coverage Determination (NCD) Development for Skin Substitutes in Hard-to-Heal Wounds,” published in the International Journal of Tissue Repair.

This landmark publication brought together many of the nation’s leading wound care physicians, surgeons, researchers, reimbursement experts, policy specialists, and industry leaders to help shape an evidence-based framework for the appropriate use of skin substitutes (CTP/CAMPs) in patients with hard-to-heal wounds.

Dr. Patel is deeply grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such an accomplished group of experts dedicated to advancing wound care, limb preservation, and healthcare policy nationwide. It is a privilege to contribute to work that has the potential to help shape the future of advanced wound care and improve patient access to evidence-based therapies.

A special thank you to Anthony Kerr and Kernexus for their leadership, support, and for providing the opportunity to be part of this monumental publication. Great outcomes in limb preservation start with strong partnerships.

At Indy Wound, our collaboration with the vascular surgery team at Franciscan Health plays a vital role in helping patients heal and avoid amputation.

Restoring and optimizing blood flow is often the key to successful wound healing — especially for patients facing PAD, diabetes, infection, or critical limb-threatening ischemia.

Grateful to work alongside outstanding vascular surgeons who share the same goal: keeping patients mobile, functional, and living life on their feet.

🏌️‍♂️ Another Limb Saved!

When this patient first met Dr. Patel, he had one goal in mind:

“Get me back to the golf course.”

And that’s exactly what happened.

After a long journey that included vascular surgery, multiple operative procedures, skin grafting, hyperbaric medicine therapy, and continued wound care, he is now successfully healed and back to doing what he loves.

Stories like this remind us why we do what we do — restoring mobility, preserving limbs, and helping patients get back to living life.

Honored to have our poster accepted and presented at SAWC Fall this past Spring in Charlotte, highlighting our multidisciplinary approach to complex limb salvage care.

Successful lower extremity preservation extends far beyond the operating room. These challenging cases require constant collaboration to optimize outcomes and keep patients functional and ambulatory.

Grateful to work alongside outstanding colleagues who continue to push forward innovative and patient-centered approaches to limb preservation.
