I'm so very excited that today is the day I present in Utrecht, Netherlands at the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in Childhood and Adolescence: A Global Forum on Development, Health, and Rights!

My talk, "Inclusive Crisis Care: Addressing the Unique Needs of LGBTQIA2S+ Youth in Crisis”, draws on years of direct practice, crisis response leadership, policy work, and research to bridge what practitioners see on the ground with what developmental science and policy still need to answer.

LGBTQIA2S+ youth face a disproportionate burden of su***de risk, and yet our crisis systems so rarely reflect the training, protocols, and lived experience these youth deserve. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to present alongside researchers, practitioners, and advocates from around the world who are deeply invested in this work.

Looking forward to learning and connecting this week!

Grateful to be invited back to Purdue University's Military Family Research Institute for a second year supporting the Focus Forward Fellowship! As a former military spouse, mentoring womxn veterans through this program is close to my heart, and supporting them as they step into their next chapter is such a gift.

Being coined by my mentees both years means more than words can capture.❤️ In military culture, that coin is a symbol of appreciation. Receiving it is such an honor, as I know coins are not given away lightly. Thank you to the incredible womxn I've had the honor of mentoring, and to Sherry Shipley, for creating a space where these connections can happen. You all rock more than you know! 🤘

The past few days have been such a whirlwind, and I'm honored to have received the 2026 Outstanding Community Impact Award from the University of Tennessee College of Social Work!

This recognition belongs to my mentors and colleagues who have given me so much more than I could ever give in return. 🧡

I recently sat down with Anastassia Gliadkovskaya from Fierce Healthcare to talk about the gauntlet LGBTQIA2S+ teens have to run just to access mental health care.

These kiddos are facing long waitlists, a shrinking pool of affirming providers, and costs that put care completely out of reach, which can create or worsen crises.

But I also know what's possible when these kids finally find affirming care. The difference it makes is profound, and it's why this work matters so much. Every provider who shows up, every family who fights for their kid, every system that chooses to do better is proof that change is possible.

Let's roll up our sleeves and get to work.

This story was reported in partnership with Uncloseted Media, a nonpartisan, investigative, LGBTQ | Despite strong demand, 44% of LGBTQ youth who want mental healthcare say they cannot access it. Fierce Healthcare and Uncloseted Media investigate why.

I have too many words and feelings swirling around in my head and my heart as my cohort and I prepare for graduation in 17 days.

My heart is full of appreciation for every single one of you who has supported me in this journey. I could not have done any of this without the love, care, and semi-regular nudges forward from my awesome community.

Next stop: Catwalk!

I spent Saturday at the ACLU of Indiana's LGBTQ+ Summit with a group of incredible humans. We engaged in fellowship, laughed, learned a ton, and walked away with a renewed sense of energy, focus, and hope. Thank you to the ACLU of Indiana for this opportunity to deepen our connections to one another, roll up our sleeves, and continue this incredibly important work.

I'm excited to share that my panel session, "Why Crisis Calls Don't Connect: Bridging the Gap Between 911 and 988," has been selected for the 2026 Behavioral Health Tech Conference!

I attended this conference last year in San Diego and was completely blown away by the energy, the people, and the conversations happening at the intersection of behavioral health and technology. It left a real impression on me, and I'm so excited to have the opportunity to give back this year as a presenter.

This topic, the disconnect between our 911 and 988 systems, is one I care deeply about, and I can't wait to dig into it with a fantastic group of panelists and attendees. More details to come!

If you're planning to attend, I'd love to connect!
