❤️We are incredibly proud of Tennyson Gilbreath and all she accomplished at the HOSA International Leadership Conference!
💜Tennyson took on the challenge of applying for the HOSA International Executive Council (IEC) for the 2026-2027 year. The process was highly competitive and included submitting an application video, completing a rigorous examination, and participating in an interview for the opportunity to be slated for an international office.
💛After successfully advancing through the selection process, Tennyson was slated as a candidate for Central Region Vice President, alongside four other outstanding candidates. She delivered her campaign speech on Day 2 of ILC and represented Alabama HOSA with confidence, professionalism, and grace.
Following three rounds of voting, Tennyson finished in an impressive third place among an exceptional field of candidates. While the outcome may not have been exactly what she hoped for, her willingness to step outside her comfort zone, pursue a national leadership position, and represent her state on the international stage is an accomplishment in itself.
💛Tennyson, we are so proud of your hard work, determination, leadership, and courage throughout this process. You have already made a lasting impact on Alabama HOSA, Winston Career Academy, and everyone who has had the privilege of watching you grow as a leader.

🏁 Closing out an incredible week at the HOSA International Leadership Conference! 🏁

We wrapped up the week with the Awards Session and the unveiling of the 2026-2027 HOSA theme. What an amazing experience it has been in Indianapolis!

This week was filled with competition, leadership, learning, and memories that will last a lifetime. Our students worked hard, walked countless miles, explored the Expo, traded pins, attended sessions, and represented Winston Career Academy with excellence.

Along the way, competed against students from all across the world, then became patients for a competitive event, navigated tornado warnings, joined more than 15,000 HOSA members/advisirs moving through the tunnel and convention center, survived on very little sleep, and got up each morning ready to do it all over again!

I am so proud of this group of students. They embraced every opportunity, stepped outside their comfort zones, and made the most of every moment.

Thank you, Indianapolis, for an unforgettable week. See you next year in Philly, HOSA!

While attending the HOSA International Leadership Conference with our amazing WCA HOSA students, Mrs. Hamby was recognized on the international stage as a recipient of the Outstanding HOSA Advisor Award! 🌟

For those who know Mrs. Hamby, this honor comes as no surprise. Her passion for and commitment to student success, and dedication to the Health Science program have impacted countless lives. She goes above and beyond every day to inspire, encourage, and prepare students for their future careers in healthcare.

This prestigious recognition reflects not only her hard work and leadership but also the lasting difference she makes in the lives of her students and throughout our community.

Mrs. Hamby, thank you for your tireless dedication, servant leadership, and unwavering belief in your students. We are incredibly proud of you and grateful to have you representing Winston Career Academy and Alabama HOSA on the international stage.

HOSA ILC Day 2! Day 4 in Indianapolis
Today was filled with recognition, competition, and leadership opportunities for our WCA HOSA members!

Our chapter's HOSA Happenings Recognition Award was accepted by Aiden Wright, who stepped well outside his comfort zone by engaging with attendees and sharing information about our newsletter display. We are proud of his growth and willingness to represent our chapter!

Congratulations to Kaylee Hyche and Connor Young, who both received the Barbara James Service Award for completing more than 125 hours of community service. What an incredible example of servant leadership!

Kaylee also accepted our chapter's Certificate of Merit for earning more than 75 points through the NMDP (National Marrow Donor Program) Service Project, recognizing our chapter's commitment to making a difference.

On the competition side, Brodi Glenn completed Round 1 testing in Respiratory Therapy today. We are anxiously awaiting results tonight to see if he advances to Round 2!

Braxton Self competed in Family Medicine Physician and absolutely rocked his event! Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture before he headed into competition, but we are incredibly proud of him.

Meanwhile, Aubrey Sandlin and Kaylee Hyche stayed busy throughout the day serving as voting delegates, attending meetings and helping shape the future of HOSA.

After a full day of activities, we took a walk to grab dinner and enjoyed some time together before returning to the hotel.

Tomorrow promises to be another busy and exciting day as we continue celebrating HOSA's 50th Anniversary in Indianapolis!

(Late post for Wednesday) Day 3 in Indianapolis 2026 HOSA ILC Day 1

Registration day for everyone! Spent time exploring the HOSA Expo.

Pin trading was a highlight of the day! I now have almost half of all 50 states represented, along with American Samoa and India. I'm still searching for Korea, Puerto Rico, China, and Canada!

The excitement continued at the Opening Session inside Lucas Oil Stadium, where thousands of HOSA members gathered to celebrate leadership, service, and the future of healthcare.

Keynote speaker Chris Norton shared his powerful story of faith, perseverance, and overcoming obstacles. His message was a reminder that our greatest challenges can become our greatest opportunities. (7yards- Netflix)

The evening concluded with an amazing indoor fireworks display that lit up the stadium and kicked off ILC in unforgettable fashion.

The weather outside added a little excitement to the night, with active tornado warnings in the area leading attendees to exit through the stadium's underground tunnel system.

✨ Day 2 at HOSA ILC 2026 ✨
The day started bright and early as we left Kentucky and made our way to Indianapolis! After checking into our hotel, it was time to get to work.

Mrs. Becky, the Alabama HOSA state officers, their advisors, and our WCA students jumped right in to help prepare registration packets for Alabama HOSA delegates arriving this week. We are proud to play a small part in helping make this conference a success!
While preparations were underway, Aubrey and the state officers attended officer training sessions as they continue preparing to lead and serve Alabama HOSA this year.

And then... pin trading officially began. 😎 If you know, you know! ❤️💙

We wrapped up the evening with dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory before making an impromptu trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to watch Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, and the Indiana Fever take on the Toronto Tempo!

From leadership training and conference preparation to basketball and making memories, it was a full day and a great start to our Indianapolis adventure.
