Last but definitely not least, let’s celebrate Dr. Lennox! 🎉

An incredible surgeon who gives her all to every patient she sees. She’s described by the staff as being the most hardworking person who will teach you something new every day. Not only does she do a lot for her staff, she works endlessly as a leader in exotic animal medicine. If she’s not at work, she’s teaching a lab at a conference or lecturing for doctors learning more about the species we work with. And while doing all of this, you can sometimes catch her saying the funniest things or letting the team teach her new slang terms.

AEAC would not be here without her and we are very grateful 💚

Today is double feature Thursday!
We're celebrating Dr. Hirschman AND Dr. Trowbridge! 🎉
The team describes Dr. Hirschman as a calming presence who is always making everyone laugh. She has done so much work for Indiana House Rabbit Society and we have loved to see how much she has accomplished with it! She has a big heart for her patients and always goes above and beyond! 💚

Dr. Trowbridge pairs being an incredible doctor with reminding us all that it's okay to have fun at work. She is always making us laugh while also tackling many cases throughout the day! No matter what the day throws at her, she is always willing to help and conquer the day. Each patient she sees is lucky to have her as their doctor💚

Both of our newest residents have grown so much in their time with them. We are so grateful to have them with us!

It's time to celebrate Dr. Watson! 🎉
The two words that come up every time the team speaks about her are "excellent" and "hilarious". You can always count on her to help out wherever is needed and be a huge advocate for her patients. Her knowledge is incredible and we are so happy to have her not only as our avian resident but as a teacher. No matter how difficult a case is she is always ready to tackle it with compassion and care. 💜

Happy Tuesday! 🎉
Let's all take a moment to celebrate Dr. Matt!
Every person that has had the pleasure to work with Dr. Matt shares that she has made them fall in love with avian and wildlife medicine. Her enthusiasm for the animals that she treats is infectious among the rest of the staff. Dr. Matt has been an amazing teacher to new doctors, nurses, and any students that come through our door. One team member said they think they learn something new every day working with Dr. Matt! 💚

🎉It's Veterinary appreciation week 🎉
We have some amazing doctors here at AEAC that we would like to highlight this week! Starting with one of our mammal resident, Dr. Chung.
When asked to describe Dr. Chung, the descriptor that came up the most was "calm". She is an expert in handling difficult situations and making the rest of the staff feel at ease. She is an excellent doctor that treats every animal with compassion and care. Bonus points is she is also hilarious.
Help us show Dr. Chung some love in the comments! 💚

‼️Found Cockatiel! ‼️
Friday, May 29th we had a lady bring in a Cockatiel that was found in her senior living facility in Noblesville, IN>
We think they appear on the younger side and they are very friendly.
Currently, the bird is being safely fostered with a friend of the clinic who has extensive knowledge about caring for birds.
If you think this may be your bird, please call of text us with any additional information that you have in order to correctly confirm this is your bird. They do have a band and sings a very distinct song, we ask that you can provide us this information.

Every patient that walks through our doors is special. But sometimes, you have a patient that touches the whole of the clinic. For us, that was Cookie.
For a couple of our nurses, Cookie has been with us and grown with us for our entire career at AEAC.
The first time we met Cookie, she was a grumpy scared girl who earned a patient alert that said "will bite and lunge". And don't worry, her amazing mom knows about this alert; Cookie was grumpy with everyone. But that never stopped us from loving her and teaching her to love us (at least we think she did). She taught us patience, love, and how going above and beyond in patient comfort can truly make a difference. A few years ago we were able to remove that alert.
Cookie became a frequent flyer for laser therapy and could be seen getting pets, snuggles, kisses, splooting for her laser, and being greeted with a chorus of "Hi Cookie!" whenever she was strolled through the door.
Cookie was extra special in every way. She has left a big Cookie shaped hole in everyone's hearts. Not seeing her weekly will be hard. But she will never be forgotten.
Her fierce battle with cancer paved the way for many rabbits after her to get chemotherapy treatments. And her story will stick with us as we care for many other rabbits like her. ❤️

It's spring time! That means we are in peak wildlife season!

We can always use donations for wildlife, but right now we are in need of towels. We use these to help hold patients for exams, cover cages so they are less stressed, and just keep them comfortable!

If you have any old towels you are looking to get rid of, please consider bringing them to us! Our wildlife patients will really appreciate it! 🦎
