Fall brings plenty to look forward to. The flu isnโ€™t one of them. As flu season begins, here are three things to know about your annual flu vaccine:

๐–๐ก๐ฒ ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐ž๐š๐ซ? Flu viruses change, and protection from vaccination decreases over time. An annual vaccine helps protect against the flu and can make illness less severe if you do get sick.

๐–๐ก๐จ ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ ๐ ๐ž๐ญ ๐ข๐ญ? The CDC recommends a flu vaccine for everyone 6 months and older, with rare exceptions.

๐–๐ก๐ž๐ง ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ ๐ž๐ญ ๐ข๐ญ? Ideally by the end of October to ensure protection before peak illness periods begin. Protection takes about two weeks to develop, so now is a good time to plan ahead.

Getting to that moment meant finding a team her family could trust. After touring several ABA centers and feeling discouraged, Macyโ€™s family walked into Damarโ€™s Fall Creek clinic in Indianapolis.
