IC Strength Physical Therapy Rehab injury. Refine movement. Rebuild stronger.

Why choose a PT who is a certified Champion Baseball Specialist?

Your shoulder isn’t controlled by just one or two muscles. Seventeen different muscles attach to the scapula, while 11 major muscles cross the shoulder joint itself and any imbalance can vary your natural movement pattern leading to injury.

For college pitchers especially, the shoulder has to strike the perfect balance between strength, stability, and control—all while producing and absorbing thousands of high-velocity throws over the course of a season.

Too often, standard rehab becomes a few band exercises and a hope that rest will fix it. That’s not enough.

Real shoulder rehab means:
⚾ Restoring mobility where it’s needed.
⚾ Building strength through full ranges of motion.
⚾ Developing dynamic stability so the shoulder can tolerate high-speed throwing.
⚾ Improving motor control to efficiently transfer force from the ground, through the trunk, and into the arm.

The goal isn’t just to get you out of pain.

The goal is to build a shoulder that’s resilient enough to handle the demands of the next bullpen, the next start, and the next season.

The first few weeks after an ACL + meniscus repair can feel like the longest of your life.

Walking becomes a challenge. Bending your knee feels impossible. Simple things you never thought twice about suddenly require effort. The workouts seem repetitive. Quad sets. Heel slides. Straight leg raises. Day after day.

It’s easy to wonder, “Is this really doing anything?”

It is.

Every rep is rebuilding trust in your knee. Every small gain is laying the foundation for everything that comes next. The strength, confidence, running, jumping, cutting, and eventually returning to the sport or life you love all begin with these seemingly simple moments.

Recovery isn’t built on exciting days. It’s built on consistent ones.

Trust the process. Embrace the monotony. Celebrate the small wins that nobody else notices.

Because one day, you’ll look back and realize those “boring” first few weeks were the reason your comeback was possible.

The comeback starts long before the highlight reel. 💪🦵

Regardless of what you were told, IASTM/ASTYM/Graston isn’t “breaking up scar tissue.”

It isn’t “scraping away adhesions.”

And it definitely isn’t “remodeling fascia” with a few minutes of treatment.

So why does it help so many people?

Because the real effects are happening through your nervous system.

The mechanical stimulus from the instrument provides novel sensory input that can temporarily decrease pain sensitivity, reduce protective muscle guarding, and make movement feel easier. When pain decreases and movement improves, you have a valuable window to reinforce those changes with the things that create lasting results: strength, mobility, and progressive loading.

The tool isn’t the treatment.

It’s the opportunity.

At IC Strength Physical Therapy, we use IASTM to help people move better—not because we’re chasing adhesions, but because we’re creating the right environment to restore confident movement and build resilience.

Less chasing tissue.
More changing movement.
More building strength.
More lasting results.

Strong as an ox but still dealing with stubborn shoulder pain while bench pressing?

Rotator cuff related pain syndromes are quite common even in barbell athletes. More often than not, the shoulder just needs to learn to stabilize properly throughout a given range of motion.

Isolated and specific rotator cuff and scapular training can be instrumental in return to pressing pain free.

No theraband 3x10 external rotations here. At IC Strength PT we train like athletes need to, with proper programming and progressive overload.

30 days ago, IC Strength Physical Therapy opened its doors.

Starting a business is equal parts exciting and terrifying. There are countless moving pieces, long days, and plenty of uncertainty. But one month in, I’m incredibly grateful.

Thank you to every patient who has trusted me with their care, every friend and family member who has offered support, to my beautiful better half for her constant and unrelenting belief in my success and everyone who has shared a post, referred someone, or simply cheered me on from the sidelines.

The vision has always been simple: provide high-quality, one-on-one physical therapy that puts people before productivity metrics and focuses on helping patients move better, get stronger, and return to the activities they love.

We’re only getting started, but the first 30 days have reinforced exactly why this clinic exists.

Thank you for being part of the journey. Here’s to continuing to build something special for our community.

What does rehab look like after cervical spine fracture?

Well it depends!

There is no cookie cutter protocol to follow after even traumatic injuries. Every rehab is not only dependent on the injury severity and stage, but the level of fitness, tolerance to progressive overload, and sport-specific goals of the individual.

For instance, returning to high school wrestling requires more advanced and specific requirements than going back to desk work.

At IC Strength PT we don’t just treat the problem with cut-and-paste programs. We utilize performance-based rehab tailored to the requirements and goals of the individual.

Come realize the ICSPT difference.

One of the biggest mistakes after an injury or surgery is waiting for pain to disappear before you start moving.

The reality? Movement is often part of the solution.

The right movement, at the right time, helps restore mobility, reduce stiffness, improve circulation, maintain strength, and build confidence in the recovery process. While every injury has its own timeline, successful rehab is rarely about doing less—it’s about doing the right things sooner.

Don’t let fear, outdated advice, or endless rest slow your progress.

Recovery rewards movement.

Recovery happens outside your comfort zone.

The exercises that challenge you.
The weights that feel heavy.
The movements you’ve been avoiding.
The conversations about what you’re truly capable of.

Whether you’re rehabbing an injury or building strength, progress doesn’t come from staying comfortable—it comes from gradually pushing the boundaries of what you thought you could do.

The goal isn’t to stay where you are.
The goal is to become stronger than you were yesterday.
