It is always an amazing experience to visit the passionate doctors of Taiwan 🇹🇼

Congratulations Donald Tsung-Yung Tang on the outstanding VIP conference !

The collaborative platform with spine surgery and orthopedics was innovative and created a lot co mingling of ideas where doctors could ask the questions they always wanted to ask of their colleagues from other specialties!

Thank you for the unforgettable trip to Sun Moon Lake 🫶🏼

I can’t wait to see what you come up with next year! 💪

Zack McCormick you need to show up next time! I promise it’s safe!

Thirty marks the spot. Starting at this age, we begin to lose approximately three to eight percent of muscle mass per decade. With it, we also lose strength and mobility. Left unaddressed, this loss of muscle —called ‘sarcopenia’ in the technical lingo— can cause a significant drop in quality of life. Especially in older adults, it increases risks of falls and time spent immobile, both of which impact longevity.

Finding strategies to combat involuntary loss of muscle mass is a top priority. And even though exercise provides a natural antidote, it is not feasible for everyone; alternatives are needed for those with reduced mobility. Now, a new study brings us one step closer to being able to regenerate muscle “artificially.” The findings suggest that stem cell transplants may be a viable approach to building new muscle and repairing old injuries.

Paralysed patient walks after 7 years as stem cell therapy shows promising results

A clinical trial has revealed that stem cells taken from body fat can help restore movement in patients affected by paralysis and can improve sensation. A small trial at Mayo Clinic, a nonprofit American academic medical centre, has shed light on the potential benefit of stem cells and regenerative medicine. Thanks to stem cell therapy, a patient who was paralysed from the neck down following an accident was able to walk again.
The results, published in the journal Nature Communications, showed that seven of the 10 patients showed improvements in sensation and movement.
The most promising results were observed in a patient named Chris Barr. The California man got paralysed in 2017 after an accident. After 18 months following the injection of stem cells, Barr was able to walk again.

“I never dreamed I would have a recovery like this,” Barr was quoted as saying by ABC News. “I can feed myself.
