Today, September 19, 2026, at 4:36 PM, Seneca EMS was dispatched on the Seneca Nation Cattaraugus Territory for a woman in labor experiencing contractions. Upon arrival, it quickly became clear that the baby was not waiting.
Paramedic Ryan Graves and Paramedic Timothy Woroniecki sprang into action, assisting and coaching the baby's aunt through the delivery of a healthy baby girl right on the Seneca Nation, Cattaraugus Territory.
While all EMTs and paramedics are trained to assist with childbirth should the need arise, it is a once-in-a-career type of call for many first responders. For Paramedic Graves, an EMS provider for 8 years, this was his first delivery. For Paramedic Woroniecki, with 6 years of EMS experience, this was also his first delivery.
The call proved to be a rewarding and unforgettable experience for everyone involved. On behalf of Seneca EMS, we would like to congratulate the family and warmly welcome their beautiful baby girl into the world. 🩷

June marks National CPR and AED Awareness Month, with June 1st-7th officially recognized as National CPR & AED Awareness Week. This nationwide initiative highlights the critical role bystanders play in saving lives, as immediate CPR can double or even triple a person's chance of survival during sudden cardiac arrest.
Over the last year, Seneca EMS has proudly hosted more than 200 CPR classes and has 13 certified CPR instructors available to serve our communities. We are committed to providing the education and training needed to empower others to act confidently in an emergency.
If we can help even one person make a difference and save a life, then our mission is worthwhile. You never know when the skills learned in a CPR class may help save a family member, friend, coworker, or neighbor. Together, we can build a safer and more prepared community. ❤️🚑

During EMS Week, Seneca EMS decided to do something a little different by recognizing the dedication and hard work of our providers through employee-nominated awards at both locations. Employees were asked to nominate providers and share why they believed those individuals deserved recognition for their compassion, skill, and commitment to service.
This year’s award recipients are:
Cattaraugus
* ALS Provider of the Year — John Wall
* BLS Provider of the Year — Edward Bluff IV
Allegany
* ALS Provider of the Year — David Greene
* BLS Provider of the Year — Tiffany Dowiasz
We thank the employees who took the time to nominate these providers for consistently going above and beyond in compassion, skill, and service. Your commitment saves lives, strengthens our community, and inspires us all.
The management team also selected two recipients for the Most Improved Award:
* Paramedic Alexander Raynor — Alex became a paramedic in August 2025 and, in a short amount of time, has excelled into becoming an outstanding provider. His dedication to learning and growth has been evident every step of the way.
* Eva Tytka — Eva became a Basic EMT a little over a year and a half ago and has made tremendous progress since. She has dedicated herself to gaining additional training and experience, continuously improving her skills and patient care abilities.
Their remarkable progress, strengthened skills, and unwavering dedication to patient care have set a new standard of excellence within our organization.
This year’s Excellence in Commitment Award, selected by the Chief Michele Redeye, was presented to EMT Nycole Baxter. Nycole’s dedication to Seneca EMS is unmatched. She never calls in, always arrives ready to work, and consistently performs her duties with professionalism and compassion. In fact, we often have to remind her to take time off so she does not lose vacation or PTO time. Her reliability, tireless work ethic, and commitment to serving others have strengthened our team and elevated the standard of care throughout our community. Through every challenge, she continues to demonstrate what it truly means to serve with honor. Her dedication reflects the very highest ideals of EMS and inspires everyone who works beside her.
Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients, and thank you for your continued dedication to serving our communities.
