Seven years in private practice! It's definitely a milestone worth celebrating!!

What began as a leap of faith has grown into a growing business which was only made possible by the trust of clients and the support of my family and peers! There have been many a challenges, lessons, and growth along the way have shaped not just the business, but the care provided within it.

Feeling proud of what’s been built and grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey over the last seven years. Than you to all my employees as well, past and present, and here's to many more!

Today, we honor Juneteenth — a powerful reminder of resilience, liberation, and the ongoing journey toward justice.

June 19, 1865, marks the day when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were finally informed of their freedom (more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed). Juneteenth is not just a commemoration of delayed freedom, but a call to reflect on the legacy of slavery, the strength of the Black community, and our collective responsibility to pursue equity and inclusion.

As counselors, educators, and advocates, let us use this day to listen, learn, and affirm the voices and experiences of the Black community — not only today, but every day. Justice work is ongoing, and healing begins with acknowledgment, education, and action.

Happy Juneteenth. Let us celebrate freedom — and commit to making it real for all.

We are heartbroken to learn about the loss of Nex Benedict, a 16-year-old nonbinary student who was brutally beaten at Owasso High School and died the next day on February 8th. We are devastated by this senseless act of violence and are sending love to all who loved them.

According to family and friends, Nex enjoyed nature and caring for animals, especially their cat named Zeus. Nex also “enjoyed watching the Walking Dead, drawing, reading, and playing Ark and Minecraft,” and was a straight-A student.
