Today reminded me why I love what I do.

A hairstylist I work with came in for a customized facial. As she was laying on my treatment table, she mentioned she'd been dealing with a pretty significant headache and a lot of tension in her neck. Instead of jumping straight into a standard facial, I did what I always do—I listened.

I asked questions. I paid attention to what her body was telling me. Then I customized her treatment based on what she needed in that moment.

When I say "customized facial," I truly mean customized. Sometimes that means focusing on skincare concerns. Sometimes it means lymphatic drainage. Sometimes it means muscle relaxation and tension release. And sometimes it's a combination of all three.

By the end of her service, she sat up, looked at me, and said, "Whoa... my headache is gone. I can move my neck. I feel so good."

Moments like that never get old.

What many people don't realize is that stress, tension, inflammation, fluid retention, and muscle tightness can all affect not only how you feel, but how your skin looks as well. That's why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all facial. I believe in treating the person, not just the skin.

Sometimes what you think you need isn't actually what your body is asking for. My job is to listen, assess, and create a treatment that gives you the best results possible.

One of the things I hear all the time after a facial is:
