A couple of weeks ago, I attended a foraging workshop hosted by Gathering Abundance () and Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park. 🍂

We learned how to make Balm of Gilead, an herbal remedy traditionally used for aches and pains, by infusing oil with the buds of the cottonwood tree.

What I appreciated most was the care woven into the entire practice.

We learned how to properly identify the tree. We harvested only from fallen branches. We were mindful not to take more than what was freely given. There was a deep respect for the land in every step.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was something our instructor, Alora, emphasized. Even if you plan a day of foraging, you pause and tune in first.

💫 Is today the right day?
💫 Are the trees needing to conserve their energy?
💫 Does it feel aligned to harvest right now?

There was an invitation to ask the land, to listen, to say thank you, and to move with intention rather than assumption.

My balm will be ready toward the end of March, slowly infusing in its own timing. There is something grounding about remembering that not everything needs to be rushed.

I really encourage you to look at local workshops and community gatherings. Learning alongside others who share your interests is powerful.

You don’t need to know their names or where they’re from. Just know this: you have a spiritual team and they are always ready to support you.

All it takes is intention. You can start as simply as saying “good morning” and offering it up to those who walk with you for your highest good. That might include your well ancestors, ascended masters, star family, angels, or elemental beings.

Today, I pulled these cards after offering gratitude and asking to receive their guidance. Each one is a gentle nudge, a reminder of how loved, supported, and seen I truly am. 💜
