Hello all you lovely people!
We are still on track to open on June 23rd, and are working our way through our call list, so if you’re on our call list but you haven’t heard from us yet, don’t worry, you will!
Here’s how things will work for the next few months:
Tattoos and consultations will be by appointment only and consultations will be by video chat as much as possible. Our door will be closed to the public (and we’re really going to miss all of your visits!) to minimize in-person contact.
You can schedule tattoos and consultations by calling (607)277-4474. If we don’t answer, leave a message - we will call you back as soon as we’re done with the person we’re working on.
For now, we’re working decreased hours and limiting the length of appointments to two hours at a time to reduce the number of people in the store at any one time and the length of time spent in close proximity to other people.
In addition to the usual confirmation call, the day before your appointment we’ll be calling to ask some screening questions, to go over some do’s and don’ts, and to answer any questions you might have. If you get a phone call from us the day before your tattoo, please call back - the screening is so we don’t have to send anyone home on the day of their tattoo if we feel that tattooing them poses a risk to either themselves or their artist. If we don’t hear back from you, you will have to reschedule your appointment. We don’t usually like to use our stern voice, but this is not negotiable.
If you feel unwell in the few days before your tattoo, or anyone you’ve come into close contact with is unwell or has recently tested positive for Covid-19 please reschedule your tattoo. You will not forfeit your deposit if you reschedule for this reason, and we can reschedule you as soon as it’s safe for everyone.
We’re asking people not to bring friends or family to their appointments. The only exception is if you are both getting tattooed and you live in the same household.
Everyone has to wear a mask in the shop at all times (we will be too!).
At the moment we can’t have a public water cooler so please bring water (or some other drink). You’ll need it - It’s getting warm out! Other than that, please don’t bring food with you.
Please don’t come early to your appointment - we’re scheduling time between customers so there’s no contact between them and so that we can clean the shop and be ready for you at your appointment time.
If you also have to work on the day of your appointment, please don’t come straight from work - schedule your appointment so you have time to go home, shower, and change your clothes before you come in.
We realize that some of these things may be a little inconvenient, but we hope you’ll understand that our main concern is to keep our community safe - hopefully this will be temporary! But the fact is that the longer someone is in close contact with another person, the higher the risk. We are required by New York State to be tested before we can go back to work, and every 14 days after that, in order to keep the risk to our clients low. We are trusting you to have the same regard for our health as we do for yours.
If you have any questions about our safety measures, or anything else, please contact us - as always, we are happy to answer them.
Check back for more updates - this is new for us and we will be making adjustments as we get used to the changes,
Carol and Cesar
(This paper polyhedron model has absolutely nothing to do with tattooing but it’s really cool! And attention grabby!)
