A native of New Orleans, Dr. Keller attended Duke Medical School and completed his cardiac surgery training at Carolinas Medical Center. He is the founder of a non-profit organization which integrates grassroots health initiatives with innovative technology to reach underserved communities.

Our Plastic Surgery nurse practitioner, Michelle, recently spent time refining and expanding her knowledge of advanced laser treatments through additional hands-on training. During the session, she was able to perform a NanoPeel treatment for a patient.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Antoine Keller to UMMC as the new Division Chief of Cardiac Surgery.

A New Orleans native, Dr. Keller attended Duke Medical School and completed cardiac surgery training at Carolinas Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery and holds fellowship certificates from the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Surgeons. He is founder of a non-profit organization HeartSense which integrates grassroots health initiatives with innovative technology to reach underserved communities.

When he’s not in the hospital, he enjoys baking, traveling, and cheering on his twin sons Max and Kingston at their sporting events.

Collaboration across specialties leads to better patient care. 💙

Last week, our department hosted a Lunch & Learn for APPs focused on building connections and learning more about the resources and specialty services available across UMMC. Each speaker discussed their role, when referrals may be appropriate, and how collaborative care helps improve patient outcomes.

This session highlighted Cancer Center care and stroke prevention, bringing together experts from multiple specialties to share their knowledge and expertise.
