Scoliosis Myth vs. Fact! Let’s clear up some major misconceptions.
MYTH: Scoliosis is caused by heavy backpacks or poor posture.
FACT: The most common form (Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis) has no known cause and is largely genetic.
MYTH: If you have scoliosis, you have to stop playing sports.”
FACT: No. In fact, staying active is highly encouraged! Exercise helps build the core and back muscles needed to support your spine. While some high-impact or unbalanced sports require caution, most athletes with scoliosis can continue playing.
