This special family holds such a special place in our hearts, and this birth was meaningful for so many reasons. This was their second birth with usātheir first ending in an unexpected transfer that no one wanted. This birth was long awaited, deeply prayed for, and felt like the redemption they had been hoping for.
Their redemptive homebirth began with some prodromal labor that left everyone wondering when baby girl would finally choose her birthday. So when labor picked up, it was hard to know at first if this was truly it. Eventually, they decided it was time to call her doula (who had been with her for all four babies and came out of retirement just for her) and her midwives.
We knew this would likely be a quick birth, so the team headed over. But before our entire team could even arrive, this mama quite literally breathed her baby out.
In one swift wave, mama said, āHer head is out,ā and within seconds, a whole baby was floating up into her hands. Dad threw his head back with the proudest laughter, and the room filled with tears as we watched this incredible mama soak in the redemptive birth she had worked and waited so hard for.
And what a testimony to Hypnobabies this birth was. Both mama and her doula are Hypnobabies instructors, and watching her put the tools she teaches into practice so beautifully was incredible. She trusted her body, stayed grounded in her breath, and truly breathed her baby into her hands.
Within minutes, the whole team arrived, and we laughed in awe as we watched this family of six get to know one another. We moved mama to the bed, tucked her in with her favorite people, and settled into a slow, peaceful morning of postpartum together.
Some births are more than just a birth. They are healing. They are redemption. They are answered prayers. š¤
