The shoulder is a complex of five linked bone groups: the clavicle, the scapula,the sternum, the ribs and ribs. It is the most commonly dislocated joint in the body.
The R shoulder relates to the liver, when liver is congested, it irritates the sensory nervous system through a network of nerve fibers and fascia linking the shoulder and liver.
The left shoulder relates to heart and stomach due to cervical nervous system that supplies sensitivity to the left shoulder, heart, esophagus, stomach and all the organs related to the vagus nerve. Sometimes the left shoulder pain is a sign of pancreatic problem as well.
Periarthritis in the shoulder could be a consequence of a dysfunction to an organ such as liver, stomach and pancreas.
The shoulder can also suffer from cervical problems such as arthrosis, disc herniation, nerve irritation, trauma such as falls, rotator cuff injuries, etc.
So, be aware of sudden pain, that starts with no trauma, no overuse, no history. Like I always say and explain to my clients, pain can happen due to mechanical imbalances but could also be referred.

Hello, my name is Kellen Foganholi.

I am a licensed Physical Therapist and certified Pilates Instructor based in Jacksonville, Florida. I have dedicated the past 19 years to the field of physical therapy and 14 years to teaching Pilates, helping individuals restore movement, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life.

My passion for rehabilitation began long before my professional career. As a competitive volleyball player, I had the privilege of playing at the collegiate level in the United States and professionally in Brazil. Throughout my athletic journey, I experienced firsthand the physical demands of sports and the challenges that injuries can bring. Those experiences inspired me to pursue a career in physical therapy, with the goal of helping others recover, perform at their best, and return to the activities they love.

Over the years, I have continued to expand my clinical expertise, specializing in the treatment of chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal conditions. I believe in an individualized, hands-on approach that addresses the root cause of dysfunction rather than simply treating symptoms.

Your feet represents your root. The expression “ keep two feet on the ground “ describes how they anchor, calm and keep us stable physically and psychologically.
Our feet also represents our connection with concrete reality. Firm footing requires certain vigilance on the part of the brain
Also.. there is a relationship between the feet, the kidneys and the intestines. The inside part of the plantar arch relates to the urogenital system and the outside portion correspond to the intestines. So pain in the arch can indicate a problem in these areas

When evaluating our clients we need to look at the whole picture, specially when for us physical therapists our special tests do not bring the results that we expect. Understanding this emotional and visceral correlations can really help our approach when treating our clients with pain and discomfort
Again, pain can be mechanical from trauma and orthopedic injuries but it can also be referred.

Do you know what your pelvis and hips represent ?
Pelvis represents the house and its foundation. Pelvis is the expression of our roots, our territory and family lineage and our capacity to anchor ourselves
The hips represents the way of life, daily routines, habits, values, our stability and familial attachment.
And why am I saying this? To remind or let you know that not all your body aches and pains come from mechanical forces.
Pain can originate from mechanical forces but also initiate with our emotions that can create a weak spot in our body and manifest as pain or referred pain.
We are body, mind and spirit and there is no way we can separate that when treating people. So the problem or injury we see, a lot of times, can be a manifestation of something way deeper than we think 🙏
