My somatic practices course at Jacksonville University was a success. I am grateful for the opportunity to educate the next generation of dancers and artists. There are wonderful ways to teach somatic techniques amongst those I taught the following:
My seed of growth— through planting a seed/journaling/observation skills.
Prayer and stillness – A moment of quiet connection that recenters the mind and softens the body. Great way to meditate!
Breath-work for regulation – Intentional breathing calms the nervous system and creates space for clarity.
Grounding through sensory awareness – Noticing physical sensations helps anchor the mind in the present moment.
Guided prompts for Intuitive movement – Allowing the body to move freely supports emotional release. The art of letting GO!
