Keeping the peace can cost you yours.
There’s a difference between creating peace and constantly trying to prevent anyone else from being uncomfortable.
When keeping the peace means staying quiet about what hurts, saying yes when you want to say no, avoiding conversations you know need to happen, or making yourself smaller so someone else doesn’t get upset…you may be protecting everyone’s comfort except your own.
And over time, that can show up as resentment, emotional exhaustion, anxiety, or feeling disconnected from yourself.
Healthy relationships have room for your needs, your feelings, your limits and your voice—even when someone else doesn’t love what you have to say.
A question worth sitting with today:
Where in your life are you keeping the peace at the expense of your own?
You don’t have to share the details. If this hit home, simply leave a 💜 below.
