🚨 DR. CONSTANCE’S “I KNOW Y’ALL KNOW BETTER” HEALTH ANNOUNCEMENT 😂🦠

Listen‼️

The germs are OUTSIDE‼️

Strep. COVID. Respiratory infections. Everybody has apparently decided to have a little reunion. 😩

So before we start swapping germs like friendship bracelets, I need everybody to remember a few things:

🧼 WASH. YOUR. D*** HANDS.‼️

Soap. Water. SCRUB.

Running your fingertips under the faucet for 2.5 seconds does NOT count. 👀

🤧 COVER. YOUR. D*** mouth when youvCOUGH.‼️

Your cough does not need to be shared with the entire room.

And PLEASE stop coughing into your hand and then touching the door handle‼️

Now we ALL got it. 😒

🏠 IF YOU ARE SICK, STAY YOUR A** HOME.‼️

Nobody at work needs your dedication THAT bad.

We will survive without you.

What we DON’T need is you coming in coughing, sneezing, sweating, talking about:

“It’s just my allergies.”

Baby… GO HOME. 😭😂

🧪 COVID is still a thing‼️

💊 Antibiotics do NOT treat viruses‼️

And that random amoxicillin you found in the back of the medicine cabinet from 2020

PUT. IT. DOWN. 😂

If you have a persistent or severe sore throat, significant fever, trouble breathing or swallowing, dehydration, or symptoms that are getting WORSE, go see your doctor.

And parents… if Lil’ Pookie wakes up sick, please don’t give him Tylenol, wait for the fever to come down, and send him to school like nothing happened. 😭

Teachers everywhere are BEGGING you. Especially my child. 😂

Bottom line:

Wash your d***hands.
Cover your d*** cough.
Keep your d*** germs to yourself.

Because why do we have these same conversations??

With love AND boundaries,

Dr. Constance 💛🌿

Midlife, Not Crisis | The Recap 💛

Okay Rooted Fam… 💛

Whew… we talked about some THINGS this month. 😂

Hormones. Cortisol. Hair. Skin. Sleep. Our changing bodies. And those moments when you look at yourself and think, Now what in the world is going on?! 😩😂

But somewhere along the way, the conversation changed.

We stopped just talking about symptoms and started understanding our bodies, asking better questions, and learning how to care for the women we are NOW.

And y’all showed up. In the comments. In my DMs. Sharing your stories. Making appointments you’d been putting off. Sending these posts to your daughters, sisters, and girlfriends.

THAT is why I started this series. 💛

And because we covered A LOT, I put together an August Clinical Recap for you. 👆🏾

Save the flyer. Screenshot it. Share it. Come back to it. It has the key things we talked about this month all in one place—because I want you to have something you can actually USE.

Midlife isn’t the end of anything.

Baby, we are still learning.
Still growing.
Still glowing.
And definitely still outside. 😂✨

This is Midlife. Not Crisis.

Be Rooted, y’all. 💛🌿

Good morning & Happy Monday! 💛

New week. New grace. Another chance to keep choosing ourselves, learning our bodies, and showing up a little differently than we did before.

I’ve been sitting with some of the responses from this month’s series, and all I can say is… y’all showed up. As always. 🙏🏾

Women shared that they finally had words for what was happening in their bodies. Some made appointments they had been putting off. Some started asking better questions about hormones, cortisol, hair loss, and their overall health.

THIS is why I do this.

Not just to post clinical information, but to create a space where women can talk about what’s happening to us without shame, without suffering quietly, and without thinking we’re “just falling apart.”

Every appointment made, every question asked, every conversation started, and every woman who decided to choose herself matters. 💛

And we’re not done yet!

The finale of this series drops Wednesday, and we’re closing out August the same way we started it with honesty, clinical truth, a little laughter 😂, and a whole lot of choosing ME.

Because when you know your body better, you can advocate for her better.

Be Rooted, y’all. 🌿💛

MidLifeNoCrisis| She’s Still Glowing|Reclaiming Your Body✨

The glow-up in midlife isn’t about looking younger. It’s about looking and feeling like yourself again.

This month, we’ve talked about hormones, cortisol, hair, skin, sleep, and all the changes that can make you wonder, What is happening to me?

But learning what’s happening in your body isn’t meant to scare you. It gives you the power to care for yourself differently.

For me, reclaiming my body has looked less like trying to get the “old me” back and more like taking better care of the woman I am now.

I move because my body needs it, not as punishment.
I protect my sleep because I feel the difference when I don’t.
I pay attention to what I eat and how my body responds. Im doing better day by day😝
I ask questions about my hormones instead of suffering quietly.
And yes, I invest in my skin, my scalp, and the things that make me feel good too. 💛

Midlife doesn’t mean we stop caring about how we look or feel. It means we get to decide what caring for ourselves looks like now.

Book the appointment. Ask the questions. Get the facial. Take the walk. Rest. Dance in your kitchen. Whatever your version looks like choose YOU.

She’s still glowing. She just needed to remember that the glow never left. ✨

What does your midlife glow-up look like? 👇🏾

Be Rooted, y’all.

MidLifeNoCrisis|The Connection
Hair. Skin. Hormones. Cortisol.

One thing I've learned through doing this work and living it, is that these aren't separate conversations.

For a while, I treated the changes like individual problems. My hair was changing. My skin was different. Sleep wasn't the same. Stress hit harder. My body was shifting.

But once I started connecting the dots, it made sense.

Hormonal changes can show up in your hair and skin. Chronic stress can affect your sleep, mood, appetite, and hair cycle. Nutrition matters. Inflammation matters. And sometimes what we're seeing on the outside is telling us to pay attention to what's happening on the inside.

That's why I've learned not to look at hair or wellness in isolation.

Rest matters.
Boundaries matter.
Movement matters.
Nutrition matters.
Joy matters too. 💛

And no, doing one thing won't magically fix everything. But I've learned that when I take better care of the whole woman, I feel the difference in more than one place.

Your body isn't a collection of random symptoms. It's connected. Start listening to what it's telling you.

Be Rooted, y'all.

MidlifeNotCrisis | The Hair Conversation 💛

Can we talk about our hair for a minute?

Because when a woman says, “My hair is falling out,” she isn't always talking about vanity. Sometimes she's talking about fear. Frustration. Confidence. Identity.

And too many women are told, “It's just age.”

No ma'am. Let's look a little deeper.
Hair thinning and shedding during midlife can have several causes, including:
✨ Female Pattern Hair Loss: genetic hair thinning that can become more noticeable as hormones shift.
✨ Telogen Effluvium: increased shedding that can happen a few months after illness, surgery, grief, significant stress, or another major change.
✨ Chronic Stress: prolonged stress can disrupt the normal hair-growth cycle and contribute to shedding.
✨ Nutritional Deficiencies: iron/ferritin, vitamin D, B12, and zinc may be worth evaluating when clinically appropriate.
✨ Thyroid Conditions: thyroid dysfunction can also show up in your hair.

This is one of the reasons I became a Certified Trichologist. I've seen women hide under wigs, hats, and hairstyles because they were embarrassed by something that deserved to be properly evaluated.

If you're experiencing unexplained thinning or shedding, start the conversation with myself or your healthcare provider. Depending on your history and symptoms, we can determine which labs or evaluations are appropriate.

And please remember: a lab being “normal” doesn't automatically explain why you're losing hair. Ask questions. Review your results with your provider. And if the shedding continues, consider a professional scalp and hair assessment.

Who else noticed their hair changing in midlife? 🙋🏾‍♀️
