COP and wage-loss compensation are not the same thing.

One is continued pay from your agency. The other is compensation paid through OWCP.

And depending on how you were injured, the process for receiving them can be different.

If OWCP sends you a second opinion report, slow down and review it.

Do not assume everything in it is accurate.

Reports can contain mistakes. And if those mistakes are not corrected, they may create bigger issues for your claim.

The goal is not to panic.
The goal is to respond with clear documentation.

If your OWCP claim is accepted and you are out of work, even temporarily, that matters.

In many cases, injured federal workers should be treated as disabled under the rules that protect them from discrimination and unfair treatment on the job.

You should not be treated differently just because you were injured at work.

If you are dealing with an accepted claim and are unsure about your rights, talk to a team that understands the system.

Send us a message, or share this with a federal coworker who needs to hear it.

Do not let fear stop you from reporting a federal work injury.

You have rights. And as long as you are telling the truth, you should not be afraid to speak up, report the injury, and start the process the right way.

Get a CA-10, follow the steps, and make sure you are working with a doctor who understands how OWCP claims get accepted.

Save this post, share it with a federal coworker, or DM us 'HELP' if you need guidance after a work injury.

LWOP can be scary because it means time away from work without regular pay.

But in an accepted OWCP claim, you may be able to claim compensation for that lost time.

The key is documentation.

OWCP needs to know why you were off work, how it connects to your accepted injury, and what your doctor says about your ability to work.

Comment 'LWOP' if this part of OWCP has confused you, or send us a DM for guidance.
