Florida Society of Pathologists The Florida Society of Pathologists (FSP) is the voice for all pathologists working in the frequently intense field of pathological medicine.

FSP not only monitors legislation affecting the ability of physicians to work in our hospital and laboratory environments, but works closely with, and is officially recognized as a state specialty organization of the Florida Medical Association and the College of American Pathologists. 📢 Florida pathologists, now is an important time to make sure your voice is heard.

Join FSP and the College of American Pathologists (CAP) at 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 8, for a webinar focused on federal and state advocacy and how pathologists can get involved.

Dr. Joe Saad, Chair of the CAP Council on Government and Professional Affairs (CGPA), will provide updates on current and emerging advocacy issues. Of particular importance is the CMS reevaluation of surgical pathology codes, with the public comment period closing Sept. 14.

Following Dr. Saad’s presentation, FSP leadership and participating members will engage in a panel discussion to share perspectives and answer questions.

If you heard Dr. Marci Crowley speak on gastric cancer at FSP’s 5th Multidisciplinary Interactive Precision Medicine Symposium, you already know she knows her pathology.

What you may not know is that she’s also an avid hiker, kiteboarder, paddleboarder and snowboarder who has an impressive list of adventures.

She’s hiked solo into the Grand Canyon, traveled to Idaho after being inspired by a single photograph of Redfish Lake and made her first international trip to Mexico to spend a week learning to kiteboard. And she’s just getting started.

We were proud to be represented over the weekend at the Florida Medical Association Annual Meeting, where our delegation joined physicians from across the state to help shape the future of medicine in Florida.

Representing FSP were Drs. Marilyn Bui, Shadi Qasem, Elena Vrotsos and Bernadette Boac, with Dr. Ronald Giffler also in attendance.

During the meeting, the FSP delegation presented a $5,000 contribution to the FSP PAC, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to physician advocacy and organized medicine.

Thank you to our delegates for representing Florida pathologists and helping ensure our specialty has a strong voice at the state level.
