🌟 Big News in Phoenix, Arizona!

Leaders and representatives from the City of Phoenix, AZ USA , IBCCES, and the community gathered at Phoenix City Hall to mark a major milestone as the city officially receives its Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) designation.

Phoenix is now the largest municipality in the nation to earn the CAC designation, with more than 80% of front-facing City employees, including Police and Fire personnel, completing specialized autism and sensory training. As part of the certification process, IBCCES also conducted onsite reviews across City locations, providing actionable recommendations and sensory guides to enhance accessibility.

Recommended by the City’s Strategic Workgroup on Accessibility, this milestone builds on Phoenix’s broader accessibility efforts, including inclusive design standards for new homes, enhanced wayfinding for people with low or no vision, and hearing loop technology in City Council Chambers. ❤️
