September is going to be a full month for The ApotheKerie.

We’ll be out in the community for three vendor events, and I’m also opening space for breathwork, sound healing, and the Return to Her workshop.

If you’ve been wanting to come shop with us, meet me in person, or experience some of the deeper wellness work happening through The ApotheKerie, this is a good month to do it.

A quick note for my regular shop visitors: The ApotheKerie will be closed on September 12, 19, and 26 while we’re out at vendor events. Come find us on the road instead.

Next Saturday, September 12th, The ApotheKerie is heading out of the shop and into the community for the 7th Annual Holistic Living & Healing Expo.

Come spend a little time with us, shop your ApotheKerie favorites, explore our handcrafted body care and wellness offerings, and meet so many other local holistic and wellness practitioners all in one place.

We’ll be there from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM at:

The expo is indoors and free to attend, with wellness vendors, demonstrations, samples, giveaways, and workshops happening throughout the day.

A little heads-up: The ApotheKerie shop will be CLOSED on Saturday, September 12th because we’re bringing the shop to you.

So instead of visiting us at our usual location, come find The ApotheKerie at the expo. I’d love to see some familiar faces there, meet new ones, and spend the day sharing a little Nurse Yourself With Love™ care with the community.

September feels like a threshold.

Summer is winding down. My birthday is coming. Fall is almost here. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want the next season to feel like, not just for me but for the women I work with, too.

I turn 55 on September 21, and I decided to spend part of my birthday doing something that feels deeply aligned with where my work is going.

So I created Return to Her.

It’s a free live conversation about whole-body healing, seasonal renewal, and what it means to come back into relationship with yourself.

We’ll talk about the physical body, nervous system, emotions, patterns, nourishment, identity, and the deeper parts of health that rarely fit neatly into a meal plan or a checklist.

I also want to talk about what we carry from one season into the next.

The habits.
The exhaustion.
The old stories.
The ways we’ve been pushing past ourselves.

And what it might look like to move into fall a little more intentionally.

Today, July 29, holds so many emotions and so much meaning for me.

Twelve years ago today, I walked into what I believed would be one of the happiest days of my life. I was closing on the home I had built for myself and my children.

That same day, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Looking back, I now understand that the diagnosis was also a wake-up call. My body had been whispering to me for a long time, but like so many women who are busy caring for everyone else, I did not always stop long enough to listen.

Today, I am deeply grateful to say that I am still cancer-free.

I am celebrating the home I closed on 12 years ago. I am celebrating the life I have been given. I am celebrating the lessons that taught me to prioritize my health, honor my body, and become more intentional about the way I nourish myself.

And there is another beautiful layer to today.

I am exactly 55 days away from my 55th birthday.

So today, I am beginning a personal journey: 55 Days of Nursing Myself with Love.

For the next 55 days, I will intentionally do something each day that nourishes me with love. Something that supports my body, my mind, my spirit, my joy, or the life I am creating.

Today’s act of nourishment is simple: watermelon. For the entire day, I am enjoying watermelon as a personal celebration, a pause, and a reminder to listen to what my body needs.

Nursing yourself with love does not have to begin with a complete life transformation.
It can begin with one pause.
One nourishing meal.
One boundary.
One walk.
One glass of water.
One appointment you have been postponing.
One decision to listen when your body whispers.

We are important too. When we continually pour into our families, friends, careers, businesses, and communities without caring for ourselves, eventually there is not enough left to give.

My mission is to remind women that caring for yourself is not selfish. It is necessary. It is sacred. It is part of becoming the woman you were created to be.

Today, I celebrate life.
I celebrate healing.
I celebrate 12 years cancer-free.
I celebrate being 55 days away from 55.
And I invite you to join me.
