Migraines are frustrating enough without adding guesswork to the mix. So let’s talk about something backed by real research: riboflavin, aka vitamin B2. 🧠
Here’s the science: riboflavin is a precursor to FAD and FMN — cofactors your mitochondria need to produce energy and fight oxidative stress. Migraine research suggests impaired brain energy metabolism may play a role in lowering the threshold for an attack, which is why B2 has drawn attention as a topic worth understanding.
A 2026 dose-response meta-analysis (12 trials, 749 participants) found a linear relationship between riboflavin intake — up to 400mg/day — and reductions in migraine frequency and duration. Swipe to see the actual numbers and how the study was built. ➡️
As always: this is education, not a prescription. Everyone’s physiology is different, and the right approach depends on your full picture. If migraines are part of your life, bring it up at your next visit — we’re happy to talk through where B2 (and your other options) might fit.
