Endometrial cancer turned my family into long‑distance caregivers overnight.

My mom was in Illinois. My aunt and I were in Florida. We didn’t have a playbook. We didn’t have an app. We had FaceTime, a shared notes file, and a lot of love that refused to quit.
My aunt showed up to almost every doctor’s appointment through a phone screen, taking notes, asking the hard questions, being my mom’s voice when the diagnosis was too heavy to carry alone.

I drove up after her hysterectomy to help set a routine. And when I came back to Florida, I FaceTimed my mom every single day at medication time. I didn’t hang up until I watched her take them.

By 2025, as her disease became terminal, my dad, my aunt, and I were all tracking medications, pain levels, appointments, and questions in our own makeshift systems just to keep up.

Those messy, homegrown tools became the foundation for Check On Your Mom.

We are building the caregiver support we wished we’d had. And we are continuing to build for other families who are in the middle of their own overnight.

So before you need any of our resources before the ER call, before the diagnosis, before the “a couple of months to live”

“It’s probably just hormones” has delayed too many diagnoses for too long.

Abnormal bleeding is not something to wait out. Pain that keeps coming back is not just getting older. If something feels off, it deserves a real answer from a real doctor.

This June, one share is not “just a share.” It is a quiet knock on someone’s heart that says, “Hey, pay attention to this.”

Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecologic cancer, and there is still no standard screening test for people at average risk. That means too many moms, aunties, sisters, and friends are told “it’s just hormones” or “you’re just getting older” while symptoms like abnormal bleeding or new pain keep getting worse.

Sharing this post might be the nudge that makes someone finally call their doctor, insist on answers, or push for a second opinion. It might be the reason a cancer is caught early, when treatment options are more effective and survival chances are higher.

If you’ve ever wished for “one more appointment,” “one more test,” or “one more chance” for someone you love, let this be that chance for another family.
