[Intimate Partner Violence Support Group] This fall, the Pride Center of WNY will be offering an 8-week group for individuals who have experienced intimate partner violence in a previous relationship. IPV does not solely include physical acts of violence, but may include coercion, threats, verbal abuse, or blocking access to medical care. After such experiences, it is not uncommon for people to develop PTSD or struggle in subsequent relationships with feelings of shame or inadequacy.

This group, led by Dr. Andrew Wurl and Dr. Amy Reynolds, is aimed at providing individuals with education and skills to help lead authentic lives and challenge potentially limiting beliefs from prior relationships. Criteria to join the group include identifying as a member of the LGBTQ community and a history of having been in an IPV relationship that ended at least one month ago. Call the Pride Center at 716/852-7743 for more information. Please be prepared to leave your name and phone number, as well as a time to receive a return call, as the group screening will require a return call.
