The ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® is the highest credential a healthcare organization can achieve. A Magnet designation indicates to patients and the public that these organizations have met the most stringent, evidence-based standards of nursing excellence in patient care delivery.

Norton Children’s Hospital has applied to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for the prestigious Magnet designation.

We invite patients, family members, staff, and other interested parties to provide feedback via email or mail.

Aggie was our Norton Children’s Superhero of the Match at the Racing Louisville FC match!

At just 5 months old, Aggie developed a viral infection that caused inflammation around her heart, eventually leading to a complete heart block. At 13 months old, she received a lifesaving pacemaker at Norton Children’s Heart Institute.

Since then, Aggie has received coordinated, multidisciplinary care from the cardiology, genetics, neurology, and gastroenterology teams at Norton Children’s.

Today, Aggie is doing great with her pacemaker and has begun playing soccer and t-ball.

Way to go, Aggie!!

Today Norton Healthcare celebrated the grand opening of Norton Pharmacy – Blankenbaker, a full-service retail pharmacy and home to the health system’s new central fill pharmacy. This innovative facility uses advanced automation to prepare thousands of prescriptions for adults and children each day, helping make prescription services more convenient for patients.

Norton Pharmacy – Blankenbaker is the first retail pharmacy in the Norton Healthcare and Norton Children’s system to offer home delivery, as well as the first location to include a centralized prescription fulfillment operation. Together, the retail pharmacy and centralized prescription fulfillment support home delivery while improving pharmacy operations across the system.

Norton Children’s was proud to join Warren County Public Schools for their Back to School Bash! Our team connected with families, shared information about local pediatric services and offered helpful tips for a healthy start to the school year.

We also heard from families about what they want and need from the future of pediatric care as we continue gathering feedback for our new pediatric care campus.

Three years ago, Summerlynn Smothers and her family received the call they had been waiting years for: a life-changing kidney transplant.

After being diagnosed with leukemia at age 6, Summerlynn faced serious complications that led to kidney failure and years of dialysis. Through it all, she never stopped fighting, supported every step of the way by her care teams at Norton Children’s.

Today, at 18, she’s doing things she once only dreamed about, from swimming and hiking to attending camp and riding roller coasters at Disneyland.

Recently, she celebrated three years with her kidney transplant. Summerlynn’s journey is a testament to resilience, hope and the remarkable care provided by Norton Children’s Nephrology and the multidisciplinary teams who have been part of her journey from the beginning.
