Every October, we highlight the importance of catching breast cancer early and supporting cancer patients.

This year, our team raised over $900 through Breast Cancer Awareness Month t-shirt sales to benefit the Community Breast Care Project. Community Breast Care Project financially assists local patients who have received a breast cancer diagnosis. In addition to our check presentation, we hosted our Community Connection event where we provided education on self-breast exams, and scheduled mammograms on-site.

At 47, Dulce Vargas heard the words no one wants to hear: "You have cancer."

What followed was a journey through diagnosis, treatment, and eventually remission, with JCMG providers by her side every step of the way.

Dulce is sharing her story because she remembers how frightening that diagnosis felt, and she wants other mid-Missouri families facing the same fear to know that getting through it is possible.
