Why come see us first?

Did you wake up with a stiff neck? Have low back pain? Hurt yourself over the weekend working in the yard?

Is it sometimes difficult to get in to see the Doctor, Chiropractor, Massage Therapist, or Physical Therapist?

It can be hard to get into a doctor because they are so busy, then we wait a long time to get an x-ray, and that's if insurance approves it. It's hard to get into a Physical Therapist because you have to get a Doctor referral first before you can do that. Well, now you have spent two weeks trying to get anything done and you're still in some really bad pain. Or, by the time your appointment comes around you're already feeling better. If your insurance doesn't approve PT then you can be paying out of pocket, and that could be double than what we charge.

Come see us first. We can assess your issue and help give you the best course of action.

Most of the time we can give you some exercises to have you leaving the gym better than when you came in.

We can help you figure out what is causing your pain instead of stretching out a symptom.

Sometimes this leads us to getting you into contact with our network of Doctors, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, or Physical Therapists. We will make the best recommendation to help you out, and sometimes that isn't us, but we will guide you in the right direction.

If you have something nagging that needs to be addressed come see us. We are confident we can help you

Message us, call us at (573) 353-6672 or (559) 730-1640, send us an email at [email protected]. Let us know how we can help!

Congrats to Bert Kimble for being Member of the Month for Ignite JC!

Bert grew up in a small town in Northeast Missouri called Baring, but now resides in Jeff City with his wife. They have 2 kids together and four grandchildren. Bert is retired as the Superintendent of Schools for Jefferson City Public Schools and now owns his own consulting business, Kimble Consulting LLC. In his free time, Bert likes to golf and read. To Bert, fitness is essential to his quality of life. Bert says: "as we age we need to remain active and you can't be active if you're not healthy."

Here is what Bert has to say about Ignite: "Ignite has been everything I could hope for in a fitness program. It’s individualized (with assistance) based on my needs. It is not overwhelming or grueling . It’s tailored to what I need to stay healthy and active. Chad does an excellent job of assessing an individual’s needs from a fitness perspective so they get maximum benefit from their exercise regimen. I highly recommend Ignite to anyone wanting a better quality of life."

One of the best ways to alleviate back pain is by getting the shoulders, core, and hips all working together. The best thing to do for you back pain is the right exercise, not the couch.

Congrats to Sue Arnold for being Member of the Month for HC!

Sue grew up in Fostoria, Ohio, but now resides in Jefferson City with her husband Randy. Randy is her workout partner in the gym. They have 3 kids together: Chris (37), Katie (35), and Maddie (26); two awesome son-in-laws: Brian and Cole; and two grandchildren: Isla and Cam. Sue is retired from her and Randy's tech business. Sue loves to read, travel, and chase her grandkids around. To Sue, fitness means feeling better and moving better, being able to chase around the grandkids, and going to the chiropractor less. She is in better shape now then she was twenty years ago!

Here is what Sarah has to say about Ignite: "Going to Ignite and working with Chad has been the best money my husband Randy and I have ever spent. The pristine facilities, the wealth of knowledge shared that keeps us healthy and not hurting after workouts, and the positive personal attention all combine to make us love Ignite!"

If your kid plays sports then working out is a non-negotiable.

It will make them more injury resilient. Not that it will 100% decrease their chances of getting hurt, but it will greatly decrease their chances. The injury bug will jump up and bite them at some point. If they are strong then the sting is a lot less.

They best plan of action is getting a program that is specific to them. Sometimes general programs can do more harm than good.

Get the evaluation. Get the plan. Do the work

Congratulations to our Member of the Month for HC: Sarah Morrow!

Sarah grew up in Marys Home, but now resides in Eugene, MO. Sarah is married to Brent and has two kids: Chase (20) and Abby (17). She is a Loan Officer Assistant at Flat Branch Home Loans. In her free time Sarah likes to: hang out with family, travel, watch her kid's sporting events, read, being outdoors, hiking, and just recently took up croteching. To Sarah, fitness means way more than a physical appearance. Years ago she faced some health challenges and it showed her how important it was to stay active and take care of her body. Sarah's goal is to invest in her fitness so she can maintain her fitness and continue to stay active as she gets older.

Here is what Sarah has to say about Ignite: "Before joining Ignite, I tried several different fitness programs, but I always struggled to stay consistent. I believe I found consistency through Ignite because of the community environment. Having friends to work out with each morning along with coaches who genuinely care and push you to do more makes fitness more enjoyable and keeps me motivated to keep showing up each day."

The Problem With Your Shoulder Pain

Do you suffer from shoulder or neck pain? It's often because of the neglect of the back side of the shoulder. The external rotators of the shoulder are weak in most people due to posture and doing more pushing than pulling. The Rotator Cuff of the shoulder has 4 muscles: Suprapsinatus, Infraspinatus, Teres Minor, and Subscapularis. The two muscles that are involved in external rotation is the Infraspinatus and Teres Minor.

These muscles get weak because of the common sit down posture when the shoulders rounded forward. This pulls the ball of our Humerus (arm bone) forward in the shoulder socket and produces a pain in the front of the shoulder. The pain in front is due to the ball riding forward in the socket, but the solution is to strengthen the external rotators to pull the ball back to the center of the joint. This will also reduce strain on your neck just by getting your shoulder to sit in a better position.

If you're experiencing neck or shoulder pain then work on strengthening the back part of the shoulder girdle!
