Knowing the ABCDEs of skin cancer can help you recognize changes that shouldn't be ignored:

• Asymmetry: One half of the mole doesn't match the other.
• Border: Edges are uneven, ragged, or blurred.
• Color: The mole has multiple colors or changes in color.
• Diameter: Larger than 6 mm (about the size of a pencil eraser).
• Evolving: The mole changes in size, shape, color, or begins to itch or bleed.

Skin cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer, but early detection can make a big difference. Taking a few minutes to check your skin regularly can help you catch potential concerns early. If something looks different, don’t ignore it.
