FIRST ULTRA ATTEMPT: DNF. And I’m 100% okay with it. 🏃♀️🔥
My mini goal today was 20 miles.
I RAN 20 FU***NG MILES. 👏
That fits perfectly into my marathon training, and considering the entire point of the Bluegrass Reaper Challenge is to run in the absolute brutality of the heat of the day, I’m calling today a HUGE win. 😂☀️💀
Also, I can only assume the race director is a complete sadist because WHO CREATES THIS S**T?! 😂
At the halfway point I was walking, basically crying, everything hurt, and I swore there was NO WAY IN HELL I was doing another lap.
And now?
I’M GOING BACK NEXT YEAR. 🤦♀️😂
Apparently this is how runners work.
So yeah—my first ultra attempt ended in a DNF. But I got my 20 miles, learned a hell of a lot, had an absolute blast, and discovered yet another terrible decision I apparently can’t wait to make again.
👇 Tell me in the comments: What race did you sign up for thinking “this is completely fu***ng insane”… only to finish and immediately want to do it again?
