* Encourages the “rest and digest” response — Massage may help shift the body away from a prolonged stress response and toward parasympathetic activity.
* Helps regulate stress — Regular relaxation practices can help decrease the physical effects of ongoing stress and promote a greater sense of calm.
* Supports body awareness — Massage gives you an opportunity to notice tension, breathing patterns, and areas where you habitually hold stress.
* May support better sleep — Relaxation following massage may make it easier for some people to settle into restful sleep.
* Releases physical tension — Chronic stress can contribute to tight muscles, jaw tension, elevated shoulders, and shallow breathing. Massage can help interrupt these patterns.
* Encourages slower breathing — A relaxed massage setting can naturally encourage deeper, slower breathing, which can reinforce a calmer state.
* Creates consistency — Having a scheduled monthly appointment gives your body and mind a predictable opportunity to slow down and recover.
* Supports emotional regulation — Feeling safe, relaxed, and grounded in your body may help you become more aware of emotions rather than simply pushing through them.

For more than 24 years, Alli has walked alongside women and teen girls through church, school, and camp ministry. She holds a B.A. in Women’s Ministries (Counseling) from Clarks Summit University in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. Her years of experience have given her a deep understanding of the unique challenges women face and a genuine desire to help them navigate life through the truth of Gods Word. Alli has a particular passion for helping women discover their true identity in Christ. She believes that lasting change begins with understanding who we are in Him—and that you cannot truly know who you are until you know Whose you are. Through biblical counseling, Alli comes alongside women with compassion, grace, and truth, helping them understand Scripture, recognize the lies that can shape how they see themselves, and learn to live from the identity and freedom they have in Christ. Her heart is to create a safe, Christ-centered space where women and teen girls can be heard, encouraged, challenged, and pointed back to the hope found in Jesus.
Welcome Alli! She will be starting mid September.

Get your pr***en or teen in for a massage before school.
We love the benefits of massage for our girls in teaching them to be still and comfortable in their own bodies, that self care is necessary and not selfish, that quieting the mind is so beneficial. Call or text 616-719-7723 to schedule.

Could the Vagus Nerve Be Affecting Your Child’s Digestion?

Constipation.

Reflux.

Belly aches.

Bloating.

Poor appetite.

These are incredibly common—but they aren’t always just digestive problems.

The vagus nerve is one of the primary communication pathways between the brain and the digestive system. It helps regulate:
✔ Stomach acid production
✔ Gut motility
✔ Digestive enzyme release
✔ Bowel movements
✔ The body’s “rest and digest” response

When a child’s nervous system is constantly stuck in stress mode, digestion often slows down.

Craniosacral Fascial Therapy gently works to reduce restrictions throughout the body and support nervous system regulation, which may help improve communication along the vagus nerve.

Parents frequently report improvements in:
• Constipation
• Belly discomfort
• Feeding challenges
• Reflux
• Overall calmness

The body digests best when it feels safe.

Digestive health isn’t only about food.

Sometimes the nervous system needs support before the gut can truly thrive.

If your child struggles with chronic digestive issues, CFT may be one piece of a comprehensive approach.

Ever feel like your body just… stopped responding to supplements?

It’s not that nothing works—
it’s that the body isn’t ready to receive it.

When the system is overwhelmed, you’ll often see:
• Stalled detox pathways
• Nervous system overload
• Low cellular energy
• Inconsistent responses to protocols

Before adding more, you have to understand what the body is actually prioritizing.

Sometimes the next step isn’t more—
it’s getting the body back online.

Schedule a Health Coaching session at The Times of Our Lives Clinic to get a clearer picture of what your body actually needs.
