Experience the joy of socialization with JCHAI’s signature AADD Experiences programming through RAP sessions, social learning activities, and inclusive large-group travel opportunities! JCHAI's AADD Experiences programming provides education, discussion, and social activities that empower adults with developmental disabilities to live more independent lives while also providing respite time for ca

regivers and helping to increase inclusion and understanding in our community. We create secure environments where members develop the vital skills for lifelong independence—from employment, healthy eating, arranging transportation and managing personal finances, to forming and maintaining friendships and understanding the intricacies of public etiquette. Our programs help members break the chains of social isolation as they learn to maneuver through our complex world, helping them gain the self-confidence, pride, and greater independence that can lead to a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.

Yesterday, we had an amazing time at our JCHAI AADD Experiences Pool Party, generously sponsored by the Jimmy Daino Recreation Fund.

Everyone had the opportunity to swim, check out the water slides, play miniature golf or games in the arcade, shoot some hoops, enjoy some great music and an eat delicious barbecue lunch! Even a little rain couldn’t dampen our fun.

The most meaningful moment was having Jimmy’s parents with us as everyone sang “Happy Birthday” and celebrated his heavenly 35th birthday. 🎂

We are grateful to the Jimmy Daino Recreation Fund for making this wonderful day possible and for helping Jimmy’s memory live on!

What a groovy day! Today we had our Peace & Love Dance with special entertainers Beatle Soul who absolutely rocked the house!

The music was incredible, the lunch was delicious, and the room was filled with friendship, laughter, and so much joy.

A huge thank you to the Doug Jarett Memorial Fund for helping make this special day possible and to Beatle Soul for taking us on a magical trip back to the ’60s. For a few hours, we all came together to let it be, and remember that all you need is love. 💛

This weekend we headed to the Franklin Institute to check out the Universal Theme Parks: The Exhibition. It was so much fun! Everyone enjoyed exploring interactive exhibits featuring favorites like Harry Potter, Shrek, Jurassic World, Minions, Jaws, and more. We got to storyboard a ride, animate characters, design monster masks, and see what goes into creating the amazing attractions at Universal theme parks.
Before we explored, we fueled up with pizza & salad. Then, just to make the day a little more adventurous, Mother Nature joined in! A crazy storm with thunder, lightning, and lots of downed trees meant we had to take a few detours both on the way there and on the way home. Thankfully, the rain had stopped by the time we boarded the bus. Even with the unexpected rerouting, everyone stayed positive, there was some singing on the bus, and plenty of laughter along the way. Sometimes the unexpected adventures become the best part of the day!

🇺🇸☀️ What a fantastic day at the JCHAI Annual Summer Barbecue! ☀️🇺🇸

Yesterday, more than 100 AADD and JCHAI members and staff came together to celebrate summer, friendship, and community with a special patriotic theme honoring America’s 250th anniversary.

The day was filled with great food, laughter, music, and fun! A huge thank you to Chef David and his team for an incredible barbecue feast, and to DJ Neil from Celebrations for keeping the energy high and the music flowing all afternoon.

Members enjoyed inflatable basketball and axe-throwing games, a creative art project, and plenty of time to connect with friends old and new. And, as always, Tammy had the dance floor moving from the very first song!

Events like these remind us that community is about more than programs—it’s about belonging, friendship, and creating joyful memories together.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this special day such a success. We can’t wait to do it again next year! ❤️🤍💙

Friendship blossomed at the Saft Spring Fling for over 70 members and guests of AADD and JCHAI on Sunday!
Everyone enjoyed a delicious multi-course lunch with choice of entree followed by an indulgent ice cream sundae bar with fresh fruit and all the toppings imaginable. DJ Neal kept everyone in the groove with great music with lots of requests from members of their favorite hits. Whether dancing or just sitting back with friends and enjoying great music, there was something for everyone.
Folks came dressed to impress in their finest attire which made for fantastic moments at the photo booth!
The afternoon concluded with our traditional group dance to “That’s What Friends Are For” and a contest to see who would take home the beautiful flower centerpieces.
Sincere thanks to the Saft family for their support in bringing our Spring Fling event to life - special events like this one provide unique opportunities for our members to come together and celebrate friendship, community, and belonging all while making lasting memories 💐
