Forest Therapy Trails are more than pathways through the trees.

They are invitations to remember our place within the web of life.

At The Untamed Gathering Place, the trail isn’t the destination.

It’s where we slow down, become present, and rediscover that we are part of nature—not separate from it.

Sometimes what we need most isn’t another answer.

It’s a deeper relationship with the living world.

Four years ago today, we signed the papers for this wild piece of Texas.

At the time, I knew I was saying yes to this land. What I couldn’t have known was just how deeply it would change me.

Over these last four years, this place has become one of my greatest teachers.

It has taught me to slow down when everything in me wanted to hurry.

To wander without needing a destination.

To notice what I would have otherwise walked right past.

To simply be.

This land has held joy and heartbreak, birth and death, celebration and grief. Nature has a way of reminding me that none of those things stand alone. They’re all part of the same wild, beautiful cycle of life.

For almost all of those years, I experienced this land alongside a golden retriever who seemed to understand that lesson better than I ever could. Chopper never needed a reason to stop and sniff, explore a new trail, roll in the grass, or soak up the sun. He simply lived fully in each moment.

Today is also Chopper’s birthday, which makes this anniversary feel especially meaningful.

Four years later, I’m still a student of this land. I’m still listening. I’m still learning.

More than anything, this place continues to remind me that healing isn’t always about finding answers. Sometimes it’s about slowing down enough to notice what’s been here all along.

Thank you to every person who has walked these trails, sat beneath these trees, cried, laughed, breathed deeply, and allowed this place to become part of your own story.

Here’s to another year of relationship—with the land, with one another, and with ourselves.💚

This past week at The Untamed Gathering Place was slow, intentional, and deeply healing.

There was no rush. Just time to listen, tend, rest, and reconnect with what matters. The land has a way of offering exactly what is needed when we allow ourselves to slow down enough to receive it.

For that, I am incredibly grateful.

The time spent there filled my cup and allowed me to show up fully for two beautiful walks this morning. What a gift it is to be nourished by the very thing we hope to share with others.

🌿 Grateful for the land.
🌿 Grateful for the stillness.
🌿 Grateful for the people who continue to gather.

Water’s running through the dry creek yesterday… and it feels like such a gift.

The sound, the smell, the movement—
just standing there watching the mystery of water finding its way.

Something in me softens every time. 🌿

This space holds the rhythm of the journey.

Vision.
Creation.
Completion… and beginning again.

Everything is always in process.
Nothing stays the same.
And transition often brings grief.

I’m no longer pushing past that.

This space gave me room to feel it…
to grieve the dreams that came crashing down along with the trees.

And on the other side—
a deeper kind of joy and gratitude I hadn’t yet met. 💚

After the storms and all the destruction… this became the last place to come together.

I knew I wanted to create shade here—some kind of covering, a way to still gather, to still be held—but I couldn’t yet see how to bring that into fruition in a way that felt aligned and financially doable.

That’s where ME Construction Concepts came to the rescue.

From the beginning, they showed up with integrity, clear communication, and a level of thoroughness that is hard to find. Every step of the process felt honest and cared for.

But this space… it’s more than what you see.

It holds a lot. There’s an emotional layer here that’s hard to put into words.
And to have someone come in and meet that—with quality, respect, and intention—mattered more than I expected.

Now I get to move into the next layer… re-staining the deck, softening the space, and creating something that invites people in.

Not just to sit…
but to slow down, to feel, and to be held.

This one means a lot. 🌿

This weekend at The Untamed Gathering Place, that little cool snap on Saturday slowed everything down just enough to really take it in.

There’s something about the shift in temperature that invites a different kind of presence… a deeper appreciation.

Grateful for this land and the way she continues to change through the seasons—
and for the reminder that I’m allowed to do the same.

I came across this tree again on the land today, and it stopped me… again.

At some point something pushed it, bent it, changed its direction. But it didn’t break. It adapted and kept growing toward the light.

A quiet reminder from the forest: resilience doesn’t always look like standing straight. Sometimes it looks like bending and continuing anyway.

What comes up for you as you look at the tree?

This space reminds us that nothing here is wasted.
That what falls can still serve.
That even in loss, there is continuity.

We don’t rush past what was.
We sit with it.
We tend it.
We let it keep offering its medicine — just in a different form.

This is the heart of The Untamed Gathering Place.
A living reminder that healing is not about returning to what was, but allowing what is to become meaningful.

In time, this circle will hold tending.
Quiet gatherings.
Shared warmth.
And moments of remembering together.

For now, it stands—ready. 🌿🔥
