Rather than hearing it from us, we’d rather let a parent share her experience.

Hadley’s family has traveled from Texas five times because they have seen meaningful progress through pediatric CIMT intensives. As parents, they value not only the therapy their daughter receives, but also the practical coaching that helps them carry those gains into everyday life.

Every child is unique, but our goal is always the same:
Build meaningful movement, increase independence, and equip families with tools they can use long after the intensive ends.

Sometimes the biggest milestone isn’t finishing the task.

It’s what happens when the task doesn’t go as planned.

Henry was working hard to coordinate both hands, carefully threading each bead with focus and determination. Then… they all tumbled off.

Instead of frustration, he laughed.

That moment tells us so much.

In intensive therapy, we’re not just building strength and coordination. We’re helping children develop confidence, resilience, and the willingness to try again.

Because the goal isn’t perfection.

It’s helping children discover that they can keep trying—even when something doesn’t go as planned.

This is Henry. He’s 3, he’s three weeks into our 4-week CIMT program, and his mom Marina put it better than we ever could.


Henry and his family drove from South Carolina to do Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy with us — not an easy trip with a 10-month-old at home too. They came because the evidence on CIMT is strong: it has the power to rewire the brain, and they wanted something with that kind of evidence behind it.


Three weeks in, here’s what’s changed: movement in his hands, fingers, and wrists his mom didn’t know he was capable of. His tone is more relaxed. He’s willing — actually excited — to use his affected hand.


And the milestone that means the most at home? Self-feeding finger foods. Week one, they weren’t sure he’d get there at all. By the end of week one, he was picking up finger foods with help. By week two: 100% independently.

Sometimes the biggest victories come in the smallest packages. 🍫

Levi came to Powerhouse for a 2-week CIMT brush-up, followed by a week of bilateral intensive training after cast removal.

On Day 1 with his cast off, he had one goal: open a Hershey Kiss independently.

What looks like a simple task represents hours of practice, repetition, problem-solving, and determination.

These are the moments we celebrate.

Fifteen years ago, Powerhouse Therapy began with a simple goal: helping children with one-sided weakness build skills, confidence, and independence through CIMT intensive therapy.

Along the way, we’ve celebrated first grasps, first steps, new friendships, bigger goals, and countless milestones that once seemed impossible.

What I’m most grateful for isn’t the number of years—it’s the families, therapists, volunteers, and children who made this community so special.
