Congratulations to PAs Sonia Aikhionbare, Dv’nn Cooks, Sophonie Elianor-Wight, Cieara Rouse, and Luca Routh! The nccPA Health Foundation selected them to receive travel funding to participate in the REPRESENT! NCCPA Summit. We are now accepting applications for the nccPA Health Foundation EMPOWER Grant! Board Chair Rick Rohrs, PA-C Emeritus, DFAAPA, SFHM shares more about the projects that may be supported by this competitive $5,000 grant. He shared, “As a small grants funder, we’re passionate about equipping PAs to be changemakers in their communities. We invite PAs to share their creative and innovative ideas for grassroots changes that can become sustainable health care and education initiatives.”

Congratulations to Educator Nicole Caniglia! She is creating service-learning and mentorship opportunities for her PA program’s first cohort. Through six educational workshops, will teach foster and adopted teens , , and independent living skills. Topics will include healthcare navigation, puberty and sexual health, substance use prevention, financial literacy, educational and career readiness, and nutrition and cooking skills. Plans to track impact will refine future outreach initiatives.

Kudos to the Colorado Mesa University PA program! In with multiple local partners, reached 230 participants during 13 free and classes. Classes combined education, culinary demonstrations, hands-on cooking activities, and take-home recipes. Participants gained knowledge and skills they could immediately apply at home while PA students built a sustainable network that supports , chronic disease prevention, and health promotion.
