Erectile dysfunction is commonly a blood flow problem - and can be a red flag for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. But what if labs check out and blood flow isn’t the issue?

The pelvic floor muscles can play a role in achieving and maintaining an er****on.

An er****on relies on blood flow, the pelvic floor muscles, and the nervous system working together. If one piece isn't functioning well, symptoms can follow.

If you've been frustrated, pelvic floor PT may be the missing link!

If you've been putting off pelvic floor physical therapy because you're worried about the internal exam, you're not alone.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that it's like a gynecological or prostate exam. In reality, an internal pelvic floor exam is a muscle assessment. It helps us evaluate how your pelvic floor muscles are functioning so we can better understand the why behind your symptoms.

Most importantly, you're in control the entire time. We explain every step, make sure your comfort comes first, and an internal exam is never required. If you aren't comfortable, we'll adjust the evaluation and treatment to meet you where you are.

Our goal is simple: to help you feel informed, comfortable, and confident… not anxious.

Potty training rarely goes exactly how you expect, and that's okay.

There's a wide range of what's considered normal, but there are also signs that your child may need a little extra support.

Save this for potty training season, and if you've been wondering, "Is this normal?"... you're not alone. 💛

Did you know your breathing is powerful? Especially in pregnancy? 🤰

There are so many ways to breathe, but here we are talking about movement through the diaphragm. The diaphragm works with your abdominals and your pelvic floor!

In the later stages of pregnancy, baby takes up a lot of room and can limit the movement of the diaphragm. We work on keeping this moving as much as possible - and this is why rotation of the spine is also important!

We also use breath strategies to teach you how to push safely and effectively in a vaginal birth to reduce strain and tears to the pelvic floor.

Men’s pelvic floor symptoms rarely get a name, or a referral to a pelvic floor therapist.

Testicular or perineal pain, a stream that won’t start, never feeling empty, leaking or post-pee dribble, recurring constipation, fissures, hemorrhoids, tailbone pain, pain with sitting or after ej*******on.

Individually they get brushed off. Together they’re a pattern, and pelvic floor PT works with every item on that list.

We specialize in men’s pelvic health at Break Free.

In this quick video, we're breaking down what prolapse actually is, why it happens, and what you can do about it… in just 90 seconds.

At Break Free, we are skilled in assessing prolapse to help you make the best informed decision on how to resolve the symptoms and your success with pelvic floor physical therapy.

The best time to come to pelvic floor PT to rehab after the baby is before the baby arrives! (In our opinion!)

A few reasons for this:
1. We can work to reduce strain and tearing to the pelvic floor in birth by prepping for it
2. We prep you on what to expect postpartum and how to handle the early days with movement, bowel movements and daily life
3. Postpartum is a tough time to focus on yourself and healing - setting yourself up for success before delivery will give you peace!

Your postpartum recovery starts long before delivery. 🤍
