Please welcome the newest addition to our staff... Anna Albrecht! Anna’s diverse professional experience enables her to meet clients where they are on
any given day throughout their fitness journey. She began her career as a Neonatal
Respiratory Therapy Specialist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago while
earning a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Master of Public Health
from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
After the birth of her two sons, Anna sought a more flexible schedule and transitioned
into the fitness field. She became certified in the STOTT PILATES full equipment
repertoire, owned Body Positive Pilates studio for 15 years, completed a year-long
Muscle Activation Techniques internship, and pursued additional training through the
Resistance Training Specialist program.
Her interest in public health was rekindled when she participated in a research study on
the effects of exercise on urinary incontinence. This experience eventually led her to
assume the role of Program Director for The Women’s Health Foundation (WHF),
one of the sponsors of the study. During her tenure at WHF, Anna met many pelvic
health physical therapists who inspired her to change careers. At age 51, she
earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Governors State University and later
became board certified as a Pelvic Health Specialist.
Anna currently lives in the West Loop of Chicago and enjoys “city things,” including live
music, theater, street fairs, and lakefront bike rides, as well as camping and traveling
with family and friends. She recently completed a 200 hour Yoga teacher training
and has RYT200 status by The Yoga Alliance. Anna services clients in the West Loop area of Chicago.
