Yoga Day 15 ✅

I had a great session with Dillon Hoffman at The Strength Lab this morning bright and early at 6:30. If you are looking for a faster paced flow with elements of strength and flexibility, join this class on Tues at 6:30 am. I spent at least 5 min throughout in childs pose my multiple times to recover, and that's okay 💯

Yoga Day 12 ✅

This seemed so appropriate with what is happening in the world and the 25 year anniversary of 9/11. It is good to slow down and hold our heavy hearts with compassion and tenderness. This yoga was a heart offering to the world for peace and connection especially for those still grieving, searching, and holding heavy hearts all these years later. 🕊️ 🤍✨

This is a gentle practice created to hold you in moments when the h...

Yesterday during yoga at the office I had a wild experience.

Backstory: I have been battling right knee and leg pain since April/May of this year. When it initially happened I could barely bend my knee, walk, stand, drive etc. I had to stop going to the gym and I was right in the middle of my YTT 200 hr course, so poses and my activity ability had to be amended. As time went on it improved, but up until the last 2-3 weeks, my knee wasn't the same and would still swell and become very painful. I still worked to regain flexion and remain active with yoga. Finally I had a breakthrough and my knee has been feeling much better and more flexible after I self-adjusted my kneecap. I still had a decent amount of pain along the side of my leg, especially along the outside of my calf up until yesterday..

In Alexa Novak's class, we were doing a pigeon pose and it was very uncomfortable on my right side, 8/10 pain. I decided to lean into it, breathe, and not let the pain consume me. I dove into the sensation and felt feelings of overwhelm, overexertion and hypercritical thinking. I had to use grounding techniques so I wouldn't become lost in the feelings, and I breathed and allowed my body to feel into it but also remembered that I was safe. My mind flashed back to injuries I had in high school and never rehabbed. Finally, I felt the pain travel from my leg, up into my chest and out of my mouth/crown of head with my breath. I felt a lot of anxiety as this was occurring and at one point I thought I was going to vomit. Then I experienced amazement at what happened next.

The pain is gone. My leg feels more normal than it has in almost 6 months.

To sit with our pain without judgement is so powerful. To be willing to purge, to witness, to let it move is what is necessary to heal. That is the power of presence and trust in the body to know what to do. And I couldn't be at this place feeling more safe in my body without Alexa, my yoga cohort, my yoga community, and the work I've tirelessly done to reclaim presence in my body through training, therapy, and pursuing healing.

Good afternoon all!

As time goes, afternoon and evening times are becoming more and more booked up and I have less wiggle room to move appointments or make room for extreme lateness. More than 15 min late is considered a late cancellation and you will be charged and need to reschedule.

I want to remind people again of the Cancellation and No show policy. I require 24 hours at minimum notice for cancellation/re-schedule unless extreme emergency. It will be enforced without exception at $55 for late cancellation and No Show equal to the price of your missed service. It comes down to respect for my time and other paying clients. Thank you for your understanding!

Also, this is a pre-emptive notice...most likely within the coming year I will be leaving insurance mostly if not completely and focusing more on a patient-centered, membership based model as I always had the vision for.

This model will allow me to:

✨spend more time with patients if needed
✨individualize treatment
✨reduce administrative constraints
✨offer services insurance doesn't cover
✨focus on prevention rather than only symptom management
✨create a calmer, less rushed experience
✨provide more continuity of care

No it isn't happening right now, but it is on the horizon as participating in network is not viable to the practice and my own longevity. If you have questions please ask! I thank you for being on this wild journey with me. 🩷

Yoga Day 10 ✅

I've been MIA over the long weekend and just busy. I will share some flows I did over the weekend and this week. Yesterday was a great class I got to lead, we decided to still move but slow it down and hold more poses to regulate and get in touch with ourselves. We even challenged ourselves with Reverse Table Top or Ardha Purvottanasana ✨

To teach, steward, or guide is a privilege. This can come in many forms: a teacher, parent, mentor, healer. It should be every master's dream to see their students grow beyond their talents, successes, lessons, failures, and limitations. When we can mentor, we should because we will learn as well ✨🩷
