The two buckets of movement and why 'closing your rings' may not be enough. A conversation I have all too often.
Bucket 1: Activities of daily living. Grocery shopping, going in and out of stores, cleaning the house, cutting the lawn, pulling weeds, walking around at work. Being busy.
Bucket 2: Planned, intentional physical activity that is going to pose a mild challenge to the body. It is going to tell your heart, lungs, muscles and even your bones to do better. Cardio at a moderate to vigorous pace, weight training, fitness classes, etc.
We need BOTH for health. If you are closing your rings because you are busy or have a job where you are on your feet, it does not mean that you exercised for the day.
