✅ Sugar-free electrolyte packets ⚡️

🚫 What you CANNOT bring:

☀️ THE POINTE SUMMER TRAVEL TIP #1 ✈️

One time, I shipped a $12 toaster to our hotel. Cheaper than taking a family of four out to breakfast every morning. 💸

Before your next trip, call the hotel and ask if they can receive a grocery delivery. Most will say yes. 📦

Send ahead what you need for breakfast and snacks, and you will save money, eat better, and start every day on your terms. ☀️

If you have a choice for your health, choose small and local.

⚾ Last night ran long. A 37-run baseball game. I still got up this morning. 💪

Because that is what this mission does to you. It calls. There are no other options.

Small business owners don't chase algorithms or vanity numbers. We chase results. We chase meaning. Something bigger than us placed this on our hearts — and if we don't answer, it won't leave us alone. 🙏

Here's what this morning looked like before most people had their coffee ☕:

✍️ Two pieces of content written — one on cancer prevention and why health "rabbit holes" are more deterrent than help

📬 New clients uploaded into the system, weekly email sent (this week: portion control challenge)

📲 Blog post and social content coordinated with the team
🔄 Rebuilt my entire masterclass PowerPoint — peer-to-peer marketing workshop is tomorrow morning

📧 Built out the follow-up email sequence and scheduled it
⚡ Realized the free guide wasn't ready — created it on the spot

💰 Stopped everything to process insurance claims — because my staff gets paid before I do. Every time. That's not a strategy. That's love. ❤️

That last one. My team gets paid first. That's what separates people doing this as a mission from people doing it as a transaction.

So here's what I want you to know the next time you have a choice in healthcare 👇

When you see someone through a large telehealth company that cycles through patients and practitioners — your copay is the same as it is with us at The Pointe. Dollar for dollar. Same insurance. Same out-of-pocket.

What's different is what you get on the other side of that dollar.

A team that worked late, got up early, and thought about you before the day officially started. 🌅 A practice built on mission, not metrics. People who will work harder for you than anyone you know — because we simply can't not.

Oh — and tonight? I'm studying for an advanced certification in menopause care. 📚🔥

Because the work of showing up for you never really stops. And honestly? Bring. It. On.

✨ Choose small. In healthcare, it matters more than you think.

Motivation isn't coming to save you. I know that's not what you want to hear.

But after 20+ years as a dietitian and therapist, I can tell you with certainty: action comes first. Every single time.

Watch this and then tell me if it shifts anything for you.

The two buckets of movement and why 'closing your rings' may not be enough. A conversation I have all too often.

Bucket 1: Activities of daily living. Grocery shopping, going in and out of stores, cleaning the house, cutting the lawn, pulling weeds, walking around at work. Being busy.

Bucket 2: Planned, intentional physical activity that is going to pose a mild challenge to the body. It is going to tell your heart, lungs, muscles and even your bones to do better. Cardio at a moderate to vigorous pace, weight training, fitness classes, etc.

We need BOTH for health. If you are closing your rings because you are busy or have a job where you are on your feet, it does not mean that you exercised for the day.

I have to be honest with you. This challenge has been harder than I thought — and I am the one who created it.

Three times this week I ate 2-3 hours before bed

* 2 x Before my cycle hit.
* On vacation watching a movie with popcorn. It happened.

But this is the most important thing.....
I kept going.

That is it. That is the whole secret. Not white-knuckling it. Not starting over. Not punishing myself. Just — keep going.

Most people think going off track is the problem. It is not. The spiral after is the problem. The shame, the guilt, the "I already ruined it so why bother." That is what keeps people stuck — not the popcorn.

So if you had a rough holiday weekend, I need you to hear this: dust yourself off. Tonight is a new night.

Five days left in the Lights Out Challenge. Let's finish strong.
Drop a comment and tell me how your weekend went. I want to hear it. 👇

The research on health, happiness, and longevity is pretty consistent.
Time outdoors. Moving your body. Being with people, live and in person.

And summer hands you all three on a platter. The barrier is not access. The barrier is not putting it on the calendar before everything else takes that spot.

You do not need a big budget. A few ideas:
• Local festival with live music
• Farm league or semi-pro baseball game (lawn seats here in Joliet run about $10)
• Drive to a lake, pack a lunch, spend the afternoon at the beach
• Community walking or running group (your local running store knows where to find them)
• Lincoln Park Zoo (free)
• Botanical gardens (many are free or close to it)
• Free museum days
• A local 5K with someone you like

Cheers this Memorial Day..if the weather holds up, this is what we will be doing this weekend.

What is one thing you are putting on the calendar this summer? Drop it below.

Summer is officially here.

And if you are anything like me, you already feel it moving fast.

A few years ago I started doing something my friends initially found annoying: I made them bring their calendars to dinner so we could schedule our summer together. The things we actually wanted to do. The people we wanted to see. The moments we did not want to lose to a packed to-do list.

Now everybody does it.

Life will bulldoze your schedule if you let it. Work expands. Obligations pile up. And September arrives before you did any of the things you said you would.

This week, put three things on your calendar. One that moves your body. One that connects you to someone you care about. One you will actually look forward to.
That is not a small thing. That is a health behavior.
