You know, at Alchemist Haven, we share memories, tell stories, and keep those dear to us memorialized through fragrances, candles, and products created with love. We put our hearts into every single thing we do.
There’s a reason our products exist. They’re not just something to put on a shelf and sell. They’re created with intention—to make life a little better, a little easier, a little more comfortable, or perhaps a little less painful. There’s a story behind almost everything we do.
I know I’ve told the story of our logo before, but on this gorgeous Saturday afternoon, I thought I’d share it again. 💗
🌸 The Cornflowers…💙🩵
My Grandpa Harris passed away when I was 14. October 19th. I remember it was cold outside. Isn’t it funny how certain dates and little details never leave you?
Grandpa Harris was to the Harris side of our family what my Grandma Grantham was to my mom’s side. He was the one who brought everyone together. The gathering place. The heart of the family.
When Pa passed, Mom was helping arrange the flowers for the spray on his casket. You see, the Fourth of July was his favorite holiday, so Mom wanted his flowers to be red, white, and blue. And she especially wanted blue cornflowers.
The florist explained that finding cornflowers in October was probably going to be impossible, but she promised to try. Eventually, the call came. “I’m so sorry, but we just can’t find them.” Mom was disappointed, but she understood. The spray would simply be red and white.
Then came the day of visitation.
The funeral director approached Mom and asked if he could share something with her. He had her sit down and explained that a driver had unexpectedly arrived with a bucket of blue cornflowers. Nobody knew where they had come from.
The driver simply said something along the lines of, “I don’t know who these belong to, but if you want them, they’re free.”
Blue cornflowers. In October. The very flowers nobody could find.
And just like that…
Pa got his red, white, and blue. ❤️🤍💙
Flowers from Heaven? I like to think so. 🥹
Those flowers have held a special place in our family ever since. And because my soul has always felt such a deep connection to Scotland, where the countryside and wildflowers speak to something in me, I love them all the more.
So those little blue cornflowers have a permanent place on our logo. They’re not just flowers. They’re Pa. They’re family. They’re memories. They’re love that continues long after someone leaves this earth.
🐸 And the Little Frog?

As a child, I was absolutely obsessed with frogs! I loved them. Still do!
They’re innocent, sweet little creatures, but they also represent something much bigger to me. Frogs are sensitive to their environment, and when they’re thriving, it’s often a wonderful indication of a healthy, livable ecosystem.
And that’s what I want Alchemist Haven to be. A place where life is nurtured, where nature is respected, where the smallest creatures matter, and where we create things with thoughtfulness, care, and respect for the world around us.
The Roses?🌹
For my Great Grandmama. Mom wanted something for her, and they seemed perfect.
🌿 And THAT is why Alchemist Haven exists. It’s about all the good.
Our desire has always been to make life better for humanity and all the little creatures we share this beautiful earth with.
If we can be a vessel for making someone’s day brighter, easing a little discomfort, preserving a beautiful memory, or simply putting a smile on someone’s face, we’re in.
That’s our purpose. That’s our heart. And that’s why I believe the intention behind what we create matters just as much as the creation itself.
So when you see our logo, I hope you’ll see more than a pretty little sign. You’ll see a grandfather who brought his family together, a mother who wanted to honor him with his favorite colors; love for a grandmother from a (mom) granddaughter ; a little girl who loved frogs, and a grown woman who carried those memories into a dream called Alchemist Haven.
And somehow, all these years later, Pa’s cornflowers are still bringing people together. 💙
