Melinda's Naturals - Artisan Soaps & More

Melinda's Naturals - Artisan Soaps & More Hand crafted artisan soaps, body care, and more made with love. Organic ingredients are used whenever possible and essential oils are key.

I share my passion for more natural living by creating luxurious soaps, shampoo bars, body butters, bath soaks, sugar scrubs, lip balms, and pet products. Occasionally I use fragrances and colorants for custom orders as well as design editions, but only use selected cosmetic products for this purpose after careful research. Full and complete ingredients listings are always available. Due to formul

ating soaps for many people with allergen issues, most of my soaps are NOT made with coconut oil or shea butter. I use more costly ingredients such as babassu oil and organic raw cocoa butter, therefore the cost of my products reflects this. I can customize any product with or without any particular ingredients. Please feel free to private message me for any questions or for further information.

Whirlwind Romance - cold process soap designed with paper marbling techniques.
I’ve just started making soap again after almost 5 years. After you haven’t been doing something like this for so long, you wonder if you’ll even remember how! 😂 I did have to look back at notes, some of them a decade old, but this was really fun. It was challenging….but it was fun! I used bamboo skewers to make 2 different homeade rake/combs. One was spaced evenly for making a chevron pattern first, and the second one was spaced 2 narrow and then 1 wide to get a different type of nonpareil combing pattern. Then I used a stylus to drag S shaped lines to make the “twisted” or “whirlwind” effect. The design was so fun and it made so much soap that I got a little hooked on cutting out hearts to use on top. I made so many hearts! 🤣. The really awesome patterned ones wouldn’t show up on the top of this soap so I had to use ones that were mainly light/cream. I’m already thinking about all the ways I can use all these other hearts in other projects!

It’s been nearly 5 years since I’ve made soap. My health just hasn’t allowed me to, but I’m in a better place right now and wanted to revisit what it’s like using soap making as a medium for art. It’s been a long time….but it feels good! This design was a challenge with a circling taiwan pattern. I wanted it to resemble a lotus just opening, with the lotus pad on the bottom and a lagoon blue on the top.

I appreciate your messages and inquiries.

Over the last year I made choices in order to simplify my life and live it more abundantly. One of those choices has to do with limiting time spent on social media. It has been incredibly freeing. The view is amazing and I cannot recommend it enough!

The best laid plans....sometimes go astray. If you know me personally, you already know the scoop....but here’s an update otherwise: I fell and broke my right arm 2 weeks ago and tomorrow I am having surgery to place pins and repair ligaments. I should have an 8-12 week recovery period but may never regain full mobility. Please keep me in your prayers and hopefully by May I will be back to creating soap and other goodies.
