Our group names for the week are: Phoenix Finders, Enchanted Electric Elves, Royal Roaming Rangers, SEA! (Scallywags Eventual Arrival), Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing On Rainbows, Mysterious Magical Monstrous Minotaurs, and The Gargoyles.

We can’t wait to see the stories that unfold!

The summer leadership team (from left to right: Isaac, Elena, and Brandon) is in formation and ready to rock, along with all of our wonderful CITs, Counselors, Team Leads, Nurses, and Chaplains. Counselor Training Week is a wrap! We learned, we led, we listened, and we dug our roots on down into this delicious compost of camp. Thank you to everyone who made this week possible. We’ve got such a wonderful group of new and returning staff and CITS this year who can’t wait to meet all the campers this summer. Session 1 starts Sunday!

Staff Spotlight - Kate (she/her): Kate joins us for her second year working at Camp Stevens from the mountain city of Bogotá, Colombia. She can’t wait to spend her summer outdoors with everyone and is especially excited to hike Volcan this summer. As a Team Leader, she’s passionate about her campers and counselors getting the most out of their camp experiences and she loves finding ways to teach Spanish while adding to her own expansive English vocabulary. Bonus Announcement: her bestie from last year in the last slide Lina (she/her) can’t spend the whole summer with us, but will be a special guest for International Odyssey Session 4!

Summer Staff Spotlight - Mission Wong (he/him):
Mission is a lifeguard, a great listener, and will always commit to the bit! He loves exploring new places around camp and keeps a running tally of the spots he’s been on camp’s 256 acres. Camp has become one of his favorite places to be and he uses that passion to share unique experiences with our campers. As a Team Leader, Mission will be responsible for supporting the cabin counselors, CITS, and campers in his Adventure Group as well as coordinating with other adventure groups, chaplains, and camp leadership. Let’s go Mission!

Memorial Day Weekend Family Camp was pure joy. We reunited with old friends and met some new families as well. Fan favorites like pool, archery, cobb oven cooking, needle felting, face painting, plant hikes, bird watching, nature mandalas, tie dye, family trivia, and climbing wall were extra fun in the perfect weather.
