We love hearing it straight from the kids 🤍

There’s something so special about hearing a child talk about how good they feel, the choices their family makes at home, and the things Mom says yes (and no 😉) to.

At Freeland Pediatrics, our goal isn’t perfection, it’s helping families build healthy habits that allow kids to feel their best, grow strong, and thrive. 🌿

And when the kids themselves say they feel great? That’s our favorite kind of feedback. 🤍

Burns can happen in seconds and knowing what to do right away can make a big difference. 🤍

For a minor burn, start by cooling the area under cool running water, protect the skin, and avoid common home remedies like ice, butter, oils, or toothpaste. And remember: not every burn should be treated at home. Deep burns, large burns, electrical or chemical burns, or burns involving the face, hands, feet, joints, or ge***al area should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.

That little receipt might not be as harmless as it looks. 🧾

Many thermal-paper receipts can contain chemicals like BPA or BPS, which can transfer from the paper onto our skin.

And kids? They touch everything… then put their hands in their mouths. 👀

That’s why receipts aren’t something we recommend letting little ones play with, crumple up, or carry around.

BPA is an endocrine-disrupting chemical, meaning it can interfere with the body’s hormone signaling. While our bodies can process and eliminate BPA, reducing unnecessary everyday exposure is still a simple step we can take, especially for children.

A few easy swaps:
• Choose emailed or text receipts when possible
• Don’t use receipts as toys
• Wash hands before eating after handling them
• Avoid storing receipts loose with snacks or food

Save this for the next time your toddler reaches for the receipt at checkout. 🧾

Healthy p**p is usually soft, formed, brown, and easy to pass, but every child is different. 💩

Hard pellets, painful or very large stools, frequent diarrhea, or unusual colors can be signs that your child needs extra support.

Back to school can be exciting, but it can also be a lot for little bodies. 📚🤍

Earlier mornings, new routines, new classrooms, new germs, and big emotions can leave kids feeling extra tired, clingy, emotional, or overstimulated.

This week, keep it simple: prioritize sleep, protein, hydration, outdoor time, and space to decompress after school.

How is your child adjusting to back to school so far?

A child’s gut does so much more than digest food. It plays a key role in their immune system, mood, sleep, focus, skin, and overall development.

If your child struggles with:
✨ Frequent tummy aches
✨ Constipation or diarrhea
✨ Bloating
✨ Food sensitivities
✨ Eczema
✨ Anxiety or mood changes
✨ Recurrent illnesses

…their gut may be asking for attention.

Instead of only treating symptoms, we believe in looking for the why. Supporting a healthy gut can have a ripple effect throughout the entire body because when the gut thrives, kids often do too.

It’s kinda chic… to choose a different kind of pediatric care. 🌿
