It’s almost here! The new Motus by 3-Spine is the first total joint replacement of the lumbar spine and will be an alternative to traditional artificial disc replacement in those patients who are not a candidate due to prior abdominal surgery, facet joint problems or fractures or mild spondylolisthesis.

I’m very excited about the upcoming FDA approval of the new Motus total joint replacement for the lumbar spine by 3-Spine, expected later this summer.
This will be an amazing alternative to spine fusion and to traditional ADR!

Avoid spine fusion when possible! TOPS facet replacement is another option that I use in certain cases to treat stenosis with spondylolisthesis with bad facet joints - a situation that can make traditional ADR less ideal.

Advances in motion preservation continue to reshape the way spine conditions are treated.

Dr. Jason Cuéllar will be participating in the upcoming prodisc® Total Disc Replacement cadaver lab in Miami, focused on cervical and lumbar disc replacement techniques, patient selection, surgical planning, and hands-on bioskills training alongside fellow spine surgeons from around the world.

Just finished up an amazing training session for the all new Motus by 3-Spine, the first total joint replacement system for the lumbar spine, which will hopefully be FDA approved late this summer or early fall.
this will be a great alternative for a lot of patience with lumbar degeneration that also have facet arthrosis with or without mild spondylolisthesis.
I’m always looking for new ways to avoid spinal fusion but optimally treat the problem.

Dr. Jason Cuéllar will be speaking at the upcoming prodisc® Hands-On Bioskills Lab in Miami on June 27th.

The course brings together surgeons for a full day of education focused on cervical and lumbar total disc replacement, including clinical evidence, surgical technique, decompression strategies, and hands-on cadaver lab training.

Grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with peers and contribute to ongoing education surrounding motion preservation and modern spine surgery.
