As we close out Week 1️⃣ in our new space 🏤, we’ve had our share of technical 👨🏿‍💻 😳 hiccups (our IT department is definitely on speed dial 😅)…but we are incredibly grateful to be joining such a kind & caring group of physicians & staff. Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome, thoughtful gestures, & extra grace you’ve shown during this period of transition. We remain committed to finding our new rhythm & office flow so we can continue working collaboratively to provide you with the best possible care.

It was truly a “Labor of Love” 💜 preparing our new space to welcome you! Every detail was thoughtfully done, with our patients in mind-to make each of you feel a bit our typical “vibe” that you’ve come to know and appreciate. We’re excited for you to meet everyone, including the sweet nurses who helped to bring it all together! ✨~ONE LOVE~ 🫶🏾💜🇯🇲

All the feelings this week as we closed out our last official day seeing patients in our “work-home.” And ironically, one of our OG patients had a visit today, giving us a moment to reflect on all the ups, downs, milestones, and memories these walls and halls have held over the years. There has been so much laughter, a few tears, and most importantly an overwhelming amount of love, support, and kindness shared within this space — something the world could always use a little more of. We are endlessly grateful for every patient, family member, friend, and staff member who helped make this place feel like so much more than an office. 💜🫶🏾✨

As we approach our last full week seeing patients at the Brown Institute, these reviews (14 & 11 years 😳) stood out as a reminder of all the good that’s been done inside this magical space we created to feel like a second home…for patients and staff alike. 💜
We’ve watched your families grow, stood beside you through life-changing decisions, celebrated victories, shared tears, plenty of laughs, and of course…a few treats along the way. 🍪☺️ While we recognize that change can sometimes bring uncertainty, these reviews are proof that Dr. Brown’s commitment to his patients has stood the test of time & change. No matter the location on the map 🗺️, he will still stand beside his patients, hold their hands in pre-op 👨🏿‍⚕️& greet them with that smile 😃 that truly cannot be duplicated. Thank you again for every review, every encouraging word, every ounce of understanding, grace, and support you’ve shown our family and team during this transition. We appreciate each and every one of you more than words could ever fully express…otherwise this really would become another novel. 😉📖

Thankful Thursday 💜 (promise not another novel 😉). It’s not often I’m at a loss for words, but the outpouring of love since my post 2️⃣ days ago has truly brightened all of our days, especially these 2️⃣ who definitely took the brunt of things. The most genuine & heartfelt THANK YOU to every one of you for the love, encouragement, kindness, hugs🤗, smiles😁, and even the anonymous treats 🍓🍫(which disappeared suspiciously fast 😜). The empathy & support were so needed & appreciated. It was also a reminder (to all of you too) that sometimes the darkest moments make the brightest stars 🌟 shine the most. Thank you for sprinkling ✨ us with kindness, lunch 🥪 money 💴, treats, & all the reminders that we are doing the right things…because the right people always recognize it! 🫶🏾💜🥰 ~ONE LOVE~ 💕 🇯🇲

Long Post Alert 🚨 !! I have the utmost respect for our staff, most have stood beside me for 5+ years, but honestly, tenure isn't what matters most, their hearts do. Their kindness, loyalty, patience, & the way they care for our patients every single day is what makes this office special.
This merge has been one of the more stressful seasons for the Brown Institute. Today alone included 4 surgical cases, 3 telemedicine appointments & 10 in-office appointments & I won't get home until maybe 10p just to start again at 4:00am tomorrow. Add that to moving an office which feels a lot like moving your home, except you can't take vacations days to manage it. This
team still shows up, smiling,
welcoming patients, answering calls, calming nerves, & making this place feel like home while doing all they can to keep ME running on time even if it means taking time away from my family to do all the work behind scenes. I know change can create uncertainty & anxiety for everyone, but when I witness "mean girl" comments directed toward my staff because they're tasked with making my office run the way we see fit, I can't stay silent anymore. Every woman in this office is someone's mom, someone's safe place, someone sacrificing time away from her own family to help care for yours; including my wife. To the 99.5% of patients who have supported us through every transition, change, schedule update, packed box D, & chaotic moment...thank you.
Truly. Your kindness & grace matters more than you know.
For the very few who can't manage to be kind or quiet, & choose to be rude, demanding & bring my staff to tears, including my wife, please remember: disrespect toward my staff hurts me deeply & directly impacts my ability to provide you care because reliable, hardworking, compassionate people are rare, & this team gives their all every single day. Even if there's a new face (to you), kindness costs nothing. 11 years later, we still stand firmly by the Golden Rule: treat people the way you’d want to be treated. I watch my staff live that out daily, & hope 100% of our patients will do the same. 💜 🫶🏾✌🏾🤗💜 ~One Love ~

Some absolutely incredible Nurses and support staff that make the JMC OB unit so uniquely special! 💜 Love seeing them recognized for the compassion, hard work, and heart they pour into caring for our community and patients. They somehow manage to keep moms calm & cared for while monitoring and helping newborns arrive safely AND keeping doctors & unit organized, and functioning…which honestly deserves its own award category. 😜 Thank you all for everything you do for our community and patients! ✨
