One of the easiest things to do in aesthetics is see a treatment online and think, “That’s what I need.”

Maybe it is. But maybe it isn’t.

There may be another treatment better suited to actually give you the result you’re looking for. And sometimes, before we can get the best result from a treatment, there are other things we need to address first such as your skin barrier, overall skin health or structural support.

💉 MICC vs. Lipo-Mino-Mix: What’s the difference?

They may look similar, but they aren’t the same vitamin injection—and the better choice depends on your goals.

🟣 MICC contains Methionine + Inositol + Choline + B12. These nutrients are involved in normal fat metabolism, methylation, liver function and energy metabolism. Olympia’s current MICC formulation contains higher concentrations of methionine, inositol and choline than its standard Lipo-Mino-Mix.

🔴 Lipo-Mino-Mix gives you the lipotropic ingredients plus additional B vitamins—B1, B2 and B6. Think of this as the more vitamin-focused blend for patients looking for nutritional and metabolic support.

So which one do we choose?
MICC may make sense when we're looking for a simpler, more concentrated MIC + B12 formula. Lipo-Mino-Mix may be preferred when we want the broader B-vitamin blend. Neither is a magic "fat-burning shot"—these are supportive therapies, not replacements for nutrition, movement, sleep or appropriate medical weight-management treatment.

At Thrive, we don't believe in blindly picking an injection from a menu. Your health history, medications, allergies, goals and potential contraindications matter.

These compounded injections may not be appropriate for everyone, including patients with allergies or sensitivities to an ingredient, and individual medical conditions and medication interactions need to be reviewed. The holidays have a way of feeling so far away…until suddenly your calendar is full of family photos, parties, weddings + events.

That’s why September isn’t too early to start planning. It’s actually right on time.

Coming out of a Michigan summer filled with sun, heat, pool days + lake days, fall is a great time to refocus on your skin.

It’s been a long couple of days. 🩵

We just got home from Thrive after spending most of the weekend putting the finishing touches on the new space, getting ready for our Grand Opening, and preparing for another busy week of patient care.

Small business ownership has some incredible highs…and some pretty exhausting moments too. 😂 But standing in this new space tonight, I couldn’t help but think about how far we’ve come.

Thrive started with just me. One person, an idea, pop-ups, parties, rented spaces and eventually one little room with one esthetician.

And we kept going.

We added services. We added people. We listened to what our patients wanted and needed. We learned a LOT along the way — sometimes the easy way and sometimes definitely not. And now we have a beautiful new home that gives us the opportunity to do even more.

But none of that happens without YOU.

We’ve noticed the increased phone calls, messages, referrals and new patients reaching out lately. If you’ve told a friend about Thrive, shared one of our posts, left us a review, booked another appointment or simply continued trusting us with your care — thank you.

At Thrive, you’re never just the next appointment on the schedule.

Pain isn’t one-size-fits-all. Healing isn’t either.

Two people can have the same surgery and be in completely different places in their recovery. One person may be one week post-op, while another may still be dealing with scar restriction, tightness, swelling, or discomfort a year later.

That’s why your assessment matters.

When you see Joel at Thrive, he takes a deep dive into YOUR story: • When did the pain start?
• What caused it?
• What makes it better—or worse?
• What have you already tried?
• Where are you in the healing process?
• What are you hoping to get back to doing?

From there, an individualized treatment plan is developed using the modalities that make sense for you. That may include manual therapy, scar work, cupping, needling, red light therapy or other techniques—but not everyone needs the same combination.

And sometimes, a collaborative approach is appropriate. Based on Joel’s evaluation and your response to treatment, Dr. Chatz may collaborate in your care and incorporate injections or other medical treatments when indicated. That decision is made based on your individual needs, goals and clinical assessment—not because everyone gets the same protocol.

We don’t check boxes. We assess, treat, reassess and adjust.

Whether your pain started last week or has been hanging around for years, your history is different. Your healing is different. Your plan should be too.
