Not all tattoos need clean lines to make an impact. 🖤

This blackwork forearm piece uses a distressed, textured effect to create a bold design with an almost stamped-on appearance.

Want to become a tattoo artist? Start with a pencil—not a tattoo machine. 👀

A strong apprenticeship portfolio should show your original artwork, finished pieces, different styles, and a solid understanding of linework, shading, color, composition, and anatomy.

Research the shops you approach, be ready to accept honest feedback, and don’t let a “no” stop you from improving. Wanting to tattoo is easy. Putting in the work to become a good tattoo artist is the real apprenticeship.

Save this for later and share it with an aspiring tattoo artist! 🖤

Simple, bold, and impossible to miss. ☀️🖤

This black & grey sun tattoo keeps the design clean while the soft shading gives it just enough depth.

Sometimes you really don’t need 47 tiny details fighting for attention. 😂

When your tattoo starts with YOUR own artwork. 🖤

This client came in with a design they created themselves, and Mike brought it to life on the shoulder.

We love seeing personal artwork turned into something you can wear forever, especially when the design flows this nicely with the body.

Tiny tattoo, big main-character energy. ⭐✨

A mix of bold black and outlined stars flowing across the foot for a simple design that still stands out. Sometimes you really don’t need to turn a tattoo into a whole cinematic universe.
