It’s official!!!!!!!!! I’m humbled and honored to officially serve as Deputy Director of Community Relations for the Kansas City Fire Department.
First and foremost, I give all glory and honor to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The last few weeks have stretched me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Late nights. Early mornings. Reading. Rehearsing. Reflecting. Preparing. Trusting God through every moment of uncertainty and pressure.
This moment is bigger than a promotion for me. It represents years of growth, sacrifice, leadership development, service, and commitment to people. Every classroom, every mentor, every difficult assignment, every conversation, every failure, every lesson, and every prayer helped prepare me for this opportunity.
I’m grateful for every person who poured into me throughout this journey. My family, friends, mentors, chiefs, fraternity brothers, instructors, prayer warriors, coworkers, and people who challenged me to think bigger and lead differently… thank you. You all played a role in helping shape the man and leader I continue striving to become.
One thing you’ll always hear me say is:
“All that I am, I owe. I live eternally in the red.” -Carl Holmes Edi
Leadership is not about titles or position. True leadership is servant leadership. As you climb, you should always be reaching back to help somebody else rise too.
To my family especially, thank you for the sacrifices made through the late nights, the travel, the meetings, the studying, and the time away. Thank you for believing in my purpose and supporting my mission to continue changing the community one conversation at a time.
I don’t take this opportunity lightly. I’m ready to serve. ❤️🔥
